Circuit based classical guitar model

Applied Acoustics, 2015
Abstract With the growth of electronic gaming, personal electronics and the widespread creation and distribution of digital music, the ability to synthesize realistic instrument sounds is becoming more important. In particular, the ability to synthesize guitar sounds is necessary for a variety of applications.

Subjective evaluation of classical guitars

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1997
An analysis is presented of two methods for the subjective evaluation of a set of classical guitars. One is based on ‘‘blind’’ listening tests by a general audience, and another is based on direct inspection and playing by guitar teachers and students. Subjective experiments reveal that the two types of tests produce essentially the same sorting of the

Classical guitar intonation and compensation: The well-tempered guitar

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America
An intuitive model of classical guitar intonation is presented that includes the effects of the resonant length of the fretted string, linear mass density, tension, and bending stiffness. An expression is derived for the vibration frequencies of a stiff string using asymmetric boundary conditions at the saddle and the fret.

Modal analysis of a classical guitar

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2002
Using holographic interferometry, we have determined the modes of vibration of a classical guitar (by the first author) having an asymmetrically-braced top plate and a crossed braced back of unique design. The vibrational modes and acoustical properties are compared with other classical guitars.
