Relativistic Theory of Irreversible Thermodynamics for Multi-Component Fluids and Its Post-Newtonian Limit in Relation to Classical Extended Thermodynamics

open access: closedJournal of Non-Equilibrium Thermodynamics, 2020
Abstract First, the special-relativistic Theory of Irreversible Processes for a multi-component fluid is formulated. It is based on (i) the balance equations of the particle number and the energy-momentum for the total system (i. e., the mixture of the components) as well as the sub-systems (i.

Rheology of interfaces stabilized by a 2D suspension of anisotropic particles: a classical irreversible thermodynamics theory

open access: closedSoft Matter, 2011
Surface rheological properties have a significant impact on the stability of particle-stabilized emulsions and foams. Interfaces stabilized by anisotropic particles display a highly nonlinear surface rheology, even at relatively small deformation rates.

Did nonlinear irreversible thermodynamics revolutionize the classical time conception of physics?

open access: closedFoundations of Physics, 1984
From both physical and epistemological viewpoints, the following theses, which nowadays are often discussed in the literature, are examined: Nonlinear thermodynamics renders it possible to grasp evolutionary physical processes; for thermodynamics it introduces, instead of idealized reversible time, a directed time into physics; thus a science is ...

On heat equation in the framework of classic irreversible thermodynamics with internal variables

International Journal of Geometric Methods in Modern Physics, 2016
In this paper, we show that, using a procedure of classical irreversible thermodynamics (CIT) with internal variables, it is possible to describe the relaxation of thermal phenomena, obtaining some well known results of extended irreversible thermodynamics (EIT).

Reaction Rates in a Deformable Solid in Terms of the Thermodynamics of Irreversible Processes

Izvestiya Vysshikh Uchebnykh Zavedenii. Fizika, 2021
Based on the thermodynamics of irreversible processes, the relationship between the reaction rate in a deformable solid and the stresses is demonstrated without introducing any additional hypotheses. Well known procedures of accounting for the dependence
