PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Quantum systems as classical systems

open access: yes, 2001
A characteristical property of a classical physical theory is that the observables are real functions taking an exact outcome on every (pure) state; in a quantum theory, at the contrary, a given observable on a given state can take several values with ...

LDAcoop: Integrating non‐linear population dynamics into the analysis of clonogenic growth in vitro

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Limiting dilution assays (LDAs) quantify clonogenic growth by seeding serial dilutions of cells and scoring wells for colony formation. The fraction of negative wells is plotted against cells seeded and analyzed using the non‐linear modeling of LDAcoop.

Lévy laplacians and annihilation process

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Физико-математические науки, 2018
The Lévy Laplacians are infinite-dimensional Laplace operators defined as the Cesaro mean of the second-order directional derivatives. In the theory of Sobolev–Schwarz distributions over a Gaussian measure on an infinite-dimensional space (the Hida ...

Detecting Signatures of Criticality Using Divergence Rate

open access: yesEntropy
Oftentimes in a complex system it is observed that as a control parameter is varied, there are certain intervals during which the system undergoes dramatic change.

Recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming and confer resistance to targeted therapies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that the majority of the 18 analyzed recurrent cancer‐associated ERBB4 mutations are transforming. The most potent mutations are activating, co‐operate with other ERBB receptors, and are sensitive to pan‐ERBB inhibitors. Activating ERBB4 mutations also promote therapy resistance in EGFR‐mutant lung cancer.

A Classical Density-Functional Theory for Describing Water Interfaces

open access: yes, 2012
We develop a classical density functional for water which combines the White Bear fundamental-measure theory (FMT) functional for the hard sphere fluid with attractive interactions based on the Statistical Associating Fluid Theory (SAFT-VR).

Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Peroxidasin (PXDN) is secreted by melanoma cells and binds the NK cell receptor NKG2D, thereby suppressing NK cell activation and cytotoxicity. PXDN depletion restores NKG2D signaling and enables effective NK cell–mediated melanoma killing. These findings identify PXDN as a previously unrecognized immune evasion factor and a potential target to improve

KARŞILAŞTIRMALI OLASILIK: NİTELİKSEL/BAĞINTISAL/SEZGİSEL BİR OLASILIK KAVRAMI

open access: yesFelsefe Dünyası, 2002
Since probabilistic interpretation of the universe in Quantum physics has take: place of deterministic interpretation of it in the classical Newtonian physics, probability has become a more important concept in science and thereby in philosophy of ...

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.
