Electron-photon interaction in quantum dots : spin and entanglement [PDF]
The interaction of electrons and photons lies at the heart of quantum physics. The most notable phenomena which are described by quantum physics but which obviously invalidate a classical description of the electromagnetic field - the photoelectric ...

Classical spin systems in the presence of a wall: Multicomponent spins [PDF]
In this paper we investigate classical spin systems on a semi-infinite lattice. We establish detailed properties of such systems near the surface layer. For the Ising- and the classicalXY models on a semi-infinite lattice we study the phase diagram, the critical properties and the decay of spin-spin correlations near the surface layer.

Boltzmann equation simulation for a trapped Fermi gas of atoms [PDF]
The dynamics of an interacting Fermi gas of atoms at sufficiently high temperatures can be efficiently studied via a numerical simulation of the Boltzmann equation. In this paper, we describe in detail the setup we used recently to study the oscillations

Anatomy of a Spin: The Information-Theoretic Structure of Classical Spin Systems
Collective organization in matter plays a significant role in its expressed physical properties. Typically, it is detected via an order parameter, appropriately defined for each given system’s observed emergent patterns.

Classical aspects of higher spin topologically massive gravity [PDF]
We study the classical solutions of three-dimensional topologically massive gravity (TMG) and its higher spin generalization, in the first-order formulation. The action of higher spin TMG has been proposed by Chen and Long (2011 J.

Causality and Intervention in the Spin-Echo Experiments [PDF]
In the so-called “Spin-Echo Experiments” the behaviour of a spin’s system seems to violate the second law of thermodynamics. For this reason the “Spin-Echo Experiments” are considered of particular interest for the Foundations of Physics ...

The Fine-Structure Constant in the Bivector Standard Model
The geometrical view of the electron as a spinning bivector leads to the partitioning of the electron’s energy into internal and external. The reduced Compton wavelength, λ¯C, is taken as the radius of the inertial ring (a disc), while re characterizes ...

Quantum and Classical Ergodicity of Spinning Particles [PDF]
We give a formulation of quantum ergodicity for Pauli Hamiltonians with arbitrary spin in terms of a Wigner-Weyl calculus. The corresponding classical phase space is the direct product of the phase space of the translational degrees of freedom and the two-sphere. On this product space we introduce a combination of the translational motion and classical

The Zitterbewegung in the Bivector Standard Model
We show that the Zitterbewegung of the electron arises as a real internal motion when spin is treated as a classical bivector rather than as a point fermion of the Dirac equation.

Classical Spins in Superconductors [PDF]
It is shown that there exists a localized excited state in the energy gap in a superconductor with a classical spin. At finite concentration localized excited states around classical spins form an "impurity band". The process of growth of the "impurity band" and its effects on observable quantities are investigated. § I.
