Role of Benzene on Thermal Stage Performance in a Claus Process
53rd AIAA Aerospace Sciences Meeting, 2015Experimental results are presented on the role of benzene addition to H2S combustion at an equivalence ratio of three with respect to H2S and complete combustion of benzene (i.e. under Claus condition). The results reported here are with addition of 0% and 1% benzene to H2S/O2 flame.

A Simulation of Claus Process Via Aspen Hysys for Sulfur Recovery
Chemical Product and Process Modeling, 2016Abstract In refineries, due to the environmental pollutions, sulfur content in petroleum need be reduced. The incineration process is used for sulfur recovery system which is not friendly process to the environment and needs high temperature.

Modeling a claus process reaction furnace via a radical kinetic scheme
2004Abstract In view of reducing the impact of gaseous pollutants into atmosphere, the regulations governing the emissions of Sulphur from Claus plants have become increasingly strict. Despite this fact, many process calculations routinely adopt empirical or semi-theoretical thermodynamics models based on equilibrium to estimate product distributions ...

Tough assessor or Santa Claus: rationalizing the assessment process
FIE '98. 28th Annual Frontiers in Education Conference. Moving from 'Teacher-Centered' to 'Learner-Centered' Education. Conference Proceedings (Cat. No.98CH36214), 2005A procedure is described that allows quantitative analysis of assessment results to determine if they are statistically representative of the performance of a student cohort. This procedure provides a method of determining to some degree, whether variations in statistical outcomes of a group are due to the assessment process being unrepresentative or ...

An efficient approach to robust simulation of claus processes in coking plants
2007Abstract Claus Combustion is a significant process unit in coking plants. Its main purpose is the destruction of gaseous contaminants such as H 2 S combined with the recovery of sulphur. However, since the feed flow contains much more components, it implies a complex gas reaction process, which can be divided into two parts, the furnace and the waste
