The perception of the position of an unseen limb: Investigation of the effect of thixotropic conditioning on drift and accuracy

open access: yesExperimental Physiology, Volume 110, Issue 10, Page 1447-1456, October 1, 2025.
Abstract Proprioceptive judgements can be divided into two broad categories: low‐level and high‐level. Low‐level judgements of limb position require a person to detect, discriminate or match the position of a body part, whereas high‐level judgements require a person to report the position of an unseen body part relative to the external world.

The hyperaemic and metaboreflex response of the diaphragm during fatiguing diaphragmatic work in humans

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, Volume 603, Issue 19, Page 5805-5825, October 1, 2025.
Abstract figure legend Increasing diaphragmatic work using inspiratory pressure‐threshold loading results in activation of the inspiratory muscle metaboreflex (IMM), an increase in diaphragm blood flow, and development of diaphragm fatigue. However, how IMM sensitivity and fatigue development relate to diaphragm blood flow is not well understood ...
