South Asian monsoon history over the past 60 kyr recorded by radiogenic isotopes and clay mineral assemblages in the Andaman Sea [PDF]
The Late Quaternary variability of the South Asian (or Indian) monsoon has been linked with glacial‐interglacial and millennial scale climatic changes but past rainfall intensity in the river catchments draining into the Andaman Sea remains poorly ...

Competitive Adsorption of Organic Molecules on Clay Rock
Abstract The processes governing adsorption of anthropogenic organic molecules on natural systems are complex. The presence of various phases in soils and mudstones may lead to various and simultaneous retention mechanisms. Adsorption experiments were performed on acetic, o-phthalic and citric acids on the Callovo-Oxfordian clay rock.

The signature of river- and wind-borne materials exported from Patagonia to the southern latitudes: a view from REEs and implications for paleoclimatic interpretations [PDF]
Riverine and wind-borne materials transferred from Patagonia to the SW Atlantic exhibit a homogeneous rare earth element (REE) signature. They match well with the REE composition of Recent tephra from the Hudson volcano, and hence this implies a ...

Examination of effective stress in clay rock
This paper examines the effective stress in indurated clay rock theoretically and experimentally. A stress concept is derived from the analysis of the microstructure and of the pore water in the highly-indurated Callovo-Oxfordian and Opalinus clay rocks, and subsequently validated by various experiments performed on these claystones.
