DENTA: A Dual Enzymatic Nanoagent for Self‐Activating Tooth Whitening and Biofilm Disruption

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The nanoapatite with dual enzymes (DENTA) accumulates in dentinal tubules, reducing hypersensitivity caused by dental nerve exposure and facilitating continuous ROS generation through salivary glucose for effective, long‐term whitening. The dentin structures remain non‐destructive due to the low concentration of ROS, demonstrating excellent cell ...

Keeping Clean Waters Clean: Making the Clean Water Act's Antidegradation Policy Work

open access: yesUniversity of Michigan Journal of Law Reform
This Note stresses the importance of making the Clean Water Act's antidegradation policy work in order to avoid a system of national waters of equally mediocre quality. The Nation's highest quality and most important waters are not receiving appropriate protection under the Act because the antidegradation policy contains vague definitions, the states ...

Effectiveness of Government Interventions at Inducing Better Environmental Performance: Does Effectiveness Depend on Facility or Firm Features? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Environmental agencies have several options for dealing with alleged noncompliance with environmental regulations. These options include pursuit of administrative or judicial civil penalties and injunctions to prevent future violations.

Cryo‐EM of Rationally Designed Photosystem I Nanoassembly on Graphene Validates Orientation‐Driven Enhancement of Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The first cryo‐EM visualization and quantification of oriented Photosystem I (PSI) on single‐layer graphene is reported. Domain‐specific covalent anchoring of PSI, with the reducing side of the biophotocatalyst toward graphene, promotes three‐fold higher anodic photocurrent generation compared to a randomly physisorbed counterpart. This approach allows

Exploring the Utilization of Magnetic Composite Materials for High-Risk Contaminant Removal from Wastewater by Adsorption and Catalytic Processes—A Review

open access: yesMagnetochemistry
In the context of waters polluted with different high-risk contaminants, the development of efficient materials able to efficiently clean them is necessary. In the first part, the present review focuses on the ability of various types of magnetic layered

CRISPR/Cas9‐Assisted Microrobots for Fast and Ultrasensitive “On‐The‐Fly” Next‐Generation DNA Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents self‐propelled CRISPR/Cas9‐functionalized Au–MRs for rapid, amplification‐free, “on‐the‐fly” DNA detection. By harnessing motion‐assisted signal recovery, the platform achieved the limit of detection in low fM DNA concentrations, enabling detection across a wide dynamic range within only 5 min, which is significantly faster than any ...

Transboundary Spillovers and Decentralization of Environmental Policies [PDF]

open access: yes
Most US federal environmental policies allow states to assume responsibility for implementation and enforcement of regulations; states with this responsibility are referred to as "authorized'' or having "primacy.'' Although such decentralization may have

Clean‐Limit 2D Superconductivity in a Thick Exfoliated Kagome Film

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports clean‐limit 2D superconductivity in a thick kagome system, analogous to the 3D case. It observes a drop in superfluid stiffness near the superconducting transition and a cusp‐like feature in the angular dependence of the upper critical field.
