NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Origins of the terrestrial flora: A symbiosis with fungi?

open access: yesBIO Web of Conferences, 2015
Land phototrophs need to exploit both atmosphere (providing gas and light) and substrate (furnishing water and minerals). Yet, their algal ancestors were poorly pre-adapted to such a life at the interface.

Cannabis shenanigans: advocating for the restoration of an effective treatment of pain following spinal cord injury. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Cannabis is an effective treatment for pain following spinal cord injury that should be available to patients and researchers. The major argument against the rescheduling of cannabis is that the published research is not convincing.

Large-scale wind structures in OB supergiants: a search for rotationally modulated H\alpha variability

open access: yes, 2003
We present the results of a long-term monitoring campaign of the H\alpha line in a sample of bright OB-supergiants (O7.5-B9) that aims at detecting rotationally modulated changes potentially related to the existence of large-scale wind structures.

Photoswitching Conduction in Framework Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This mini‐review summarizes recent advances in state‐of‐the‐art proton and electron conduction in framework materials that can be remotely and reversibly switched on and off by light. It discusses the various photoswitching conduction mechanisms and the strategies employed to enhance photoswitched conductivity.

Self‐Assembled Cobalt Oxide Nanobeads on the Conducting Van der Waals Semi‐Metal PtTe2 for Catalytic Heterostructure

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Self‐assembled CoO nanobeads on the Van der Waals surface of PtTe2 were synthesized through simple thermal annealing utilizing the residual oxygen in the annealing chamber. In this study, the electrocatalytic effect for oxygen evolution reaction from CoO nanobeads on conducting PtTe2 was confirmed, elucidating the new pathway to design a ...
