STOCHASTIC MARKET-CLEARING OF JOINT ENERGY AND RESERVES AUCTIONS [PDF]

open access: possibleAsia-Pacific Journal of Operational Research, 2010
An important issue in deregulated power systems is a provision of ancillary services. This paper presents a Mixed Integer Non-Linear Programming (MINLP) formulation for the provision of ancillary services (Automatic Generation Control or AGC, Spinning, Non-spinning and operational reserves) as well as the energy in simultaneous auctions by pool-based ...

Clearing Maximum Height With Constrained Kinetic Energy

Journal of Applied Mechanics, 1985
This paper addresses the question: In order to clear a given height, defined as that which is passed over by all points in the moving body, what is the minimum initial kinetic energy required and what are the other conditions that specify the solution completely? An expression is derived for the height cleared above an original supporting ground plane.

Energy and Reserve Market Clearing With Microgrid Aggregators

IEEE Transactions on Smart Grid, 2016
In this paper, a new multiobjective joint energy and reserve market clearing model is presented, in which the payment cost minimization and the voltage stability maximization are considered as the economic and security objectives, respectively. In the proposed model, microgrid aggregators (MGAs) submit their bids as demands to participate in the day ...

Market Clearing under Uncertainty: Wind Energy

2010
Power systems are subject to a great variety of uncertainties. Restructuring and competition in electricity systems are definitely contingent on the available means to overcome the difficulties brought by these uncertainties. In the case of electricity trade, holding a competitive framework constitutes a task tougher than for other commodities due to ...
