Probing the time dependence of dark energy
A new method to investigate a possible time-dependence of the dark energy equation of state $w$ is proposed. We apply this methodology to two of the most recent data sets of type Ia supernova (Union2 and SDSS) and the baryon acoustic oscillation peak at $

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Evidence of an Internal Dissipation Origin for the High-energy Prompt Emission of GRB 170214A
The origin of the prompt high-energy ($>100$MeV) emission of Gamma-ray Bursts (GRBs), detected by the Large Area Telescope (LAT) on board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, is still under debate, for which both the external shock origin and internal ...

Two‐step market clearing for local energy trading in feeder‐based markets
Recent innovations in information and communication technologies (ICT) provide new opportunities and challenges for the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) into the energy supply system as active market players. By increasing the integration of DERs, the novel market platform should be designed for these new market players to provide ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Experimental study on the thermal volatilization and condensation of zinc at 10 Pa and 200 Pa
The thermal volatilization and condensation of zinc at different heating temperatures were investigated at 10 Pa and 200 Pa. The vacuum technique is beneficial for the volatilization of metallic zinc, and the zinc volatilization is affected by heat ...

Attractive Casimir effect in an infrared modified gluon bag model
In this work, we are motivated by previous attempts to derive the vacuum contribution to the bag energy in terms of familiar Casimir energy calculations for spherical geometries.
