Autonomic Modulation and Body Composition in Educators: Physiological Associations in the Workplace Context. [PDF]

open access: yesBrain Behav
ABSTRACT Purpose This study examined the relationship between body composition and cardiac autonomic nervous system activity in educators. The objective was to explore the associations between body fat mass (BFM) and fat‐free mass (FFM) with different heart rate variability (HRV) indices in a sample of educators and to assess whether FFM moderates the ...

Muscle Control of an Extra Robotic Digit

open access: yesAdvanced Robotics Research, EarlyView.
This study compares muscle‐ and movement‐based control for operating a supernumerary robotic thumb. While movement control performs better in the proposed tasks, muscle‐based (EMG) control promotes broader motor learning. The results highlight the promise and challenges of using biosignals for human augmentation, offering new insights into intuitive ...

Sub‐Terahertz Memristor Switches Using MoS2 by Liquid–Liquid Interface Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work introduces application‐ready sub‐terahertz memristor switches fabricated from electrochemically exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets assembled at a liquid–liquid interface. The devices exhibit robust unipolar resistive switching, low insertion loss, and high isolation across 10–110 GHz.

P2X7 receptor activation awakes a dormant stem cell niche in the adult spinal cord

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2023
The ependyma of the spinal cord is a latent stem cell niche that is reactivated by injury, generating new cells that migrate to the lesion site to limit the damage.

Neuronal intrinsic properties shape naturally-evoked sensory inputs in the dorsal horn of the spinal cord

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular Neuroscience, 2013
Intrinsic electrophysiological properties arising from specific combinations of voltage-gated channels are fundamental for the performance of small neural networks in invertebrates, but their role in large-scale vertebrate circuits remains controversial.
