A Rational Design of Isoindigo‐Based Conjugated Microporous n‐Type Semiconductors for High Electron Mobility and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 29, October 17, 2023., 2023
Two n‐type semiconducting conjugated microporous polymers (CMPs) comprising isoindigo acceptor unit with different donor units are developed. A plasma‐assisted fabrication technique is implemented for overcoming the existing fabrication limitations of CMPs to achieve high‐charge carrier mobility.

EAACI Molecular Allergology User's Guide 2.0

open access: yesPediatric Allergy and Immunology, Volume 34, Issue S28, March 2023., 2023
Abstract Since the discovery of immunoglobulin E (IgE) as a mediator of allergic diseases in 1967, our knowledge about the immunological mechanisms of IgE‐mediated allergies has remarkably increased. In addition to understanding the immune response and clinical symptoms, allergy diagnosis and management depend strongly on the precise identification of ...

Mechanism and Kinetics of the Thermal Decomposition of Fe(C5H5)2 in Inert and Reductive Atmosphere: A Synchrotron‐Assisted Investigation in A Microreactor

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 9, Issue 22, August 3, 2022., 2022
Using a soft ionization coupled with photoelectron photoion coincidence (PEPICO) techniques, leads to valuable insights in the thermal decomposition of an exemplary organometallic precursor, Fe(C5H5)2, used in the synthesis of functional nanomaterials and iron oxide coatings. Thanks to the use of a microreactor, important gas‐phase species with a short

The Role of Structural Flexibility in Plasmon‐Driven Coupling Reactions: Kinetic Limitations in the Dimerization of Nitro‐Benzenes

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 8, Issue 22, November 23, 2021., 2021
Combining surface‐enhanced Raman‐spectroscopy, X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and density functional theory calculations proves that (4‐nitrobenzyl)mercaptan (4NBM) has a larger plasmon‐induced dimerization rate, dimerization yield, and selectivity toward dimerization than 4‐nitrothiophenol 4NTP because the additional methylene group increases the ...

Observation of low‐temperature chemistry products in laminar premixed low‐pressure flames by molecular‐beam mass spectrometry

open access: yesInternational Journal of Chemical Kinetics, Volume 53, Issue 10, Page 1063-1081, October 2021., 2021
Abstract The formation of typical low‐temperature oxidation products is observed in laminar premixed low‐pressure flames investigated by photoionization molecular‐beam mass spectrometry at the Swiss Light Source. The C1–C4 alkyl hydroperoxides can be identified in n‐butane‐ and 2‐butene‐doped hydrogen flames by their photoionization efficiency spectra ...

MOCVD Growth and Fabrication of High Power MUTC Photodiodes Using InGaAs‐InP System

open access: yesJournal of Nanomaterials, Volume 2015, Issue 1, 2015., 2015
We report charge‐compensated modified uni‐traveling‐carrier photodiodes (MUTC‐PDs) with high photocurrent and fast response, grown using liquid group‐V precursor, in an AIXTRON MOCVD system. The liquid group‐V precursors involve less toxicity with better decomposition characteristics.

Immobilisation of Higher Activity Wastes from Nuclear Reactor Production of 99Mo

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, Volume 2013, Issue 1, 2013., 2013
A variety of intermediate‐ and low‐level liquid and solid wastes are produced from reactor production of 99Mo using UAl alloy or UO2 targets and in principle can be collectively or individually converted into waste forms. At ANSTO, we have legacy acidic uranyl‐nitrate‐rich intermediate level waste (ILW) from the latter, and an alkaline liquid ILW, a U ...

Gas‐Cooled Fast Reactor: A Historical Overview and Future Outlook

open access: yesScience and Technology of Nuclear Installations, Volume 2009, Issue 1, 2009., 2009
A review is given of developments in the area of Gas‐Cooled Fast Reactors (GCFR) in the period from roughly 1960 until 1980. During that period, the GCFR concept was expected to increase the breeding gain, the thermal efficiency of a nuclear power plant, and alleviate some of the problems associated with liquid metal coolants.

Scalable, Microwave‐Enabled Synthesis of Ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and Heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x Colloidal Nanocrystals: Carrier Dynamics and Photocatalytic Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Two microwave‐assisted synthetic methods, specifically a one‐pot and a seeded‐growth approach, are developed within a hydroalcoholic solution for the growth of single‐phase ternary WxTi1‐xO2 and heterostructured TiO2‐WO3‐x colloidal nanocrystals. Both types of nanocrystals show significant photocatalytic activity for 4‐methoxybenzyl alcohol oxidation ...

Video Documented Upscaled Synthesis of Salts of the Parent Carbaborate Ion [CB11H12]−, its Undecafluorinated Form [CHB11F11]− and Useful Starting Materials for its Introduction

open access: yesChemistry–Methods, Volume 4, Issue 11, November 2024.
The syntheses of the carbaborate [NHMe3][CB11H12] were scaled up to 32 g batches and the reaction to 10 g of Na[CHB11F11] was optimized, to allow access to the compound in decagram scale. In addition, salt metathesis reactions to synthetically useful salts of [CHB11F11]− are described and discussed.
