Biology, Ecology, Distribution and Management of Large Crabgrass (Digitaria sanguinalis)

open access: yesWeed Research, Volume 65, Issue 4, July/August 2025.
ABSTRACT Digitaria sanguinalis (L.) Scop. (large crabgrass) is a globally distributed annual C4 grass and one of the most challenging weeds in agriculture, causing significant yield losses in crops such as maize, soyabean, rice, cotton and vegetables. Study of Clethodim Degradation and By-Product Formation in Chlorinated Water by HPLC

open access: yesChromatographia, 2005
Two of the most commonly used chlorinating agents for water disinfection, hypochlorite and chloramines, were employed to investigate the degradation of clethodim in conditions simulating tap water treatment. The main clethodim degradation products were identified by using liquid chromatography (LC) coupled with mass spectrometry (MS).

Crop rotation and herbicide program effects on Palmer amaranth and common ragweed population growth rate

open access: yesCrop, Forage &Turfgrass Management, Volume 11, Issue 1, June 2025.
Abstract The success of weed management decisions must be assessed not only in the short‐term within season but also in the long‐term over several seasons. This study investigated the effects of crop rotation and herbicide program structure on the population growth rates of Palmer amaranth (Amaranthus palmeri S.

Identifying herbicides to manage weeds in a buckwheat cover crop and for the control of volunteers

open access: yesCrop, Forage &Turfgrass Management, Volume 11, Issue 1, June 2025.
Abstract Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum) is a fast‐growing plant that quickly produces a dense groundcover. The utilization of buckwheat as a cover crop in vegetable production could be beneficial to Georgia producers, however for successful adoption, weed control in the cover crop coupled with control of buckwheat volunteers must be achievable.
