Change in Mental Health and Resilience in Childhood Cancer Survivors After Attending a Person‐Centred State‐of‐the‐Art Late Effects Clinic—on Behalf of the PanCareFollowUp Consortium

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Person‐centred follow‐up care based on evidence‐based clinical practice guidelines and providing individualised information should help to inform and reassure survivors about their medical and psychosocial situation and provide treatment and support where needed.

Determining the Climate Classes and Producing GIS-Based Climate Boundary Maps of Bartın Province

open access: yesDoğal Afetler ve Çevre Dergisi
Climate refers to the average of meteorological events and weather conditions observed over a long period of time for a region. Many scientists have made different climate classifications.

Phytoclimatic Stages and Vegetation in Baden - Württemberg and Emilia - Romagna

open access: yesLandscape Online, 2019
The assessment of ecosystems and landscapes requires reliable and simple tools. Climate determines broad type and distribution of ecosystems. Therefore, it is a major factor to consider in environmental analysis and ecological regionalization.

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Potential lighting and thermal demand reduction in office buildings using blind control considering surrounding buildings

open access: yesJournal of Asian Architecture and Building Engineering, 2019
Automated blind control has been found to be more effective in controlling solar penetration than manual blind operation. Existing automated blind control methods mainly focus on improving indoor conditions, but considering the outside obstructions may ...

Köppen versus the computer: comparing Köppen-Geiger and multivariate regression tree climate classifications in terms of climate homogeneity [PDF]

open access: yesHydrology and Earth System Sciences, 2012
A global climate classification is defined using a multivariate regression tree (MRT). The MRT algorithm is automated, hierarchical, and rule-based, thus allowing a system of climate classes to be quickly defined and easily interpreted. Climate variables

Epigenetic silencing of the liver‐specific lncRNA LUNAR promotes liver cancer progression via NOTCH activation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
LUNAR is a liver‐specific long noncoding RNA (lncRNA) that is highly expressed in normal liver but becomes epigenetically silenced in hepatocellular carcinoma through promoter hypermethylation. Loss of LUNAR is associated with NOTCH activation, epithelial–mesenchymal transition, and metastasis, whereas restoring LUNAR restrains metastatic progression ...

Comfort and energy consumption in a hybrid tunnel-type broiler barn in different bioclimatic zones of Brazil

open access: yesDyna, 2019
Poultry production is influenced directly by its environmental conditions and, therefore, the conditions of comfort, animal welfare, and energy consumption of the facilities. The objective of this study was to carry out an assessment of the climatization

Long‐term hippocampal alterations and cognitive impairment in a murine model of surgical sepsis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Using a mouse model of surgical sepsis, we tested long‐term memory and analyzed the transcriptome of single cells isolated from the hippocampus. Survivor mice showed worse memory, loss of certain brain cell subpopulations, and abnormal immune cell activity—suggesting that post‐sepsis brain alterations may be linked to cognitive deficits.

Evaluating the effect of γ‐oryzanol on MASLD pathology using a medaka fish model

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores a liver disease called MASLD, which is increasing worldwide and can lead to serious damage. Researchers used medaka fish instead of rodents to test a food compound, γ‐oryzanol. Fish fed this compound had less liver fat and healthier gut bacteria.
