Transparent Photothermal Slippery Surface Based on Monolayer Self‐Assembled MXene Film for Anti‐Fogging and De‐Icing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The ultrathin (2.5 nm) MXene film self‐assembled at liquid interfaces breaks the trade‐off between transparency (82.5 %) and photothermal conversion effect (DT∼25.1°C ± 2.9 °C) under 100 mW cm−2. After encapsulated by a slippery surface with low adhesion, this transparent film can be applied in smart windows, eyewear, and optical sensors to autonomous ...

Pierceable, Water‐Resistant, and Transparent Nanofilm Electrodes Comprising Carbon Nanotubes for Long‐Term Monitoring of Plant Electrophysiology

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Ultra‐flexible electrodes composed of single‐walled carbon nanotubes on a polymeric substrate exhibit excellent transparency, water resistance, and conformability to hairy surfaces. These non‐invasive nanofilms are easily pierced by trichomes, overcoming the structural barriers in plant electrophysiology.

Scalable Electrochemical Concrete Fabrication and Closed‐Loop Recycling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The electrochemical‐driven recycling strategy establishes a reversible concrete material flow by extracting Ca, Si, Al, and Fe from concrete waste and regenerating functional feedstocks. These reversed products are reassembled into new concrete, which re‐enters service and ultimately returns to waste, enabling a closed‐loop, waste‐origin, and low ...

An affective approach to climate change adaptation [PDF]

open access: yes
At the end of November 2011, Australian news media reported that the year was shaping up to be the eleventh hottest on record globally and the hottest in which the La Nina effect was known to be cooling water temperatures in eastern and central parts of ...

Architecture + Climate-Fiction: Seattle-Futurisms

open access: yesInternational Journal of Arts , Humanities & Social Science
Architecture schools in the US and Europe have accepted climate change as a key challenge of this century fundamentally impacting the future of the discipline and its curricula. In action plans and strategic frameworks schools mapped out design methods offering to mitigate climate change by providing techniques of prediction, be they prescriptive ...

Highly Robust Membrane Electrode Assembly Using Engineered Dual‐Phase Iridium Oxide Catalysts Breaking the Activity–Durability Trade‐Off in Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The dual‐phase iridium oxide catalyst was synthesized via a hard‐template‐assisted method, overcoming the conventional activity–durability trade‐off observed in Ir‐based catalysts. The HDP‐IrOx exhibits excellent catalytic activity and long‐term stability through the synergistic coupling between amorphous and crystalline phases, offering new insights ...
