Evaluating institutional climate finance barriers in selected SADC countries

open access: yesClimate Risk Management
Access to climate finance continues to inhibit the transition of southern African economies to a low-carbon, climate-resilient future. This is compounded by the region’s exposure to climate risks alongside several other factors, such as increasing ...

Unaccountable Accounting: The World Bank’s unreliable climate finance reporting

open access: yes, 2022
Despite being the largest multilateral provider of climate finance, the World Bank supplies very little evidence to support its claims about the amount of climate finance it provides.

On‐Water Surface Synthesis of 2D Conjugated Metal–Organic Framework Films With Controllable Layer Orientation Enabling High‐Performance Chemiresistive Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Layer orientation dictates charge transport in 2D conjugated metal–organic frameworks, yet controllable methods remain scarce. We report surfactant monolayer‐assisted on‐water synthesis of cm2‐scale Ni‐HHTP films with programmable face‐on and edge‐on orientations.

Climate justice through climate finance? Lessons from Oceania

open access: yes, 2023
Pacific Island Countries (PICs) are at the forefront of climate change and the movement for climate justice. However, in Western discourse, the PICs are often portrayed as small and isolated, which reinforces the idea that climate change impacts are ...

Climate finance across sub-Saharan Africa: Decision trees and network flows

open access: yesSouth African Journal of Science
The structure of climate finance flows from donors (multilateral sources) to recipients (sub-Saharan African countries) was studied. This is the first study to provide a comprehensive network structure of the climate finance flows into Africa, based on ...

Financing climate change adaptation [PDF]

open access: yesDisasters, 2006
AbstractThis paper examines the topic of financing adaptation in future climate change policies. A major question is whether adaptation in developing countries should be financed under the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), or whether funding should come from other sources. We present an overview of financial resources

High‐Power Rapid Laser‐Induced Synthesis of Multi‐functional Cobalt Metal‐Organic Framework With an Unprecedented Synthesis Efficiency

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Laser‐assisted synthesis enables rapid (within 1 h) and high‐yield (≥90%) production of Co‐MOFs with mesoporous structures, tunable magnetic and optical properties, and efficient adsorption of N2, CH4, and CO2 for low‐energy gas separation. DFT calculations elucidate the electronic structure and adsorption behavior.
