Genomics Insights Into High‐Latitude Adaptation of Tibetan Macaques
Tibetan macaques exhibit unique adaptations to cold, high‐latitude environments, including shortened tails and enhanced fat storage. Genomic analyses reveal a species‐specific TBX6 mutation linked to tail reduction and selection on lipid metabolism genes.

Carbon Neutrality and Bioenergy: A Zero-Sum Game? [PDF]
Biomass, a renewable energy source, has been viewed as “carbon neutral”—that is, its use as energy is presumed not to release net carbon dioxide. However, this assumption of carbon neutrality has recently been challenged. In 2010 two letters were sent to

This study demonstrates that polyC‐RNA‐binding protein 1 (PCBP1) in ventral hippocampal astrocytes modulates depressive‐like behaviors by regulating glutathione peroxidase 4‐mediated ferroptosis and synaptic glutamatergic transmission. PCBP1 overexpression intervention in the chronic unpredictable mild stress model rescues behavioral deficits ...

While decarbonisation is identified in a system of technical actions aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, the concept of climate neutrality represents an evolution of climate change coping strategies. Indeed, it considers the reduction of emissions of all greenhouse gases and tends to assume a strategic and cultural value of climate protection, with ...

An evolutionary molecular dynamics platform is used to design P1.6, a membrane‐active peptide that senses lipid packing defects in viral envelopes. P1.6 adopts a stabilized α‐helical structure upon membrane contact, disrupts virus‐like liposomes, and damages HIV‐1 particles.

A critique of climate objectivity in the context of global injustice
As climate science intersects with rising political urgency and global ecological crisis, calls for ‘neutrality’ risk obscuring the field’s entanglement with systems of power, historical dispossession, and structural inequality.

The Prussian Blue Analogue molecular magnet KMnFeHCF is demonstrated as a high‐performance cathode for ultra‐fast aqueous ammonium‐ion batteries. A full cell using KMnFeHCF and graphite delivers ~71 mAh g−1 at 1.25 A g−1 and ~51 mAh g−1 at 2.2 A g−1, retaining 50% capacity after 1850 cycles. Its scalability, cycling stability, and low cost offer strong
