Bionic Solar‐Powered Heavy Metal Trap for Eco‐Friendly Sludge Drying and Simultaneous Electricity Generation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Herein, we propose a solar‐powered heavy metal trap (SPHT) for sludge disposal. The indoor experiments demonstrated that the sludge water content decreased from 90 % to 31 %, coupled with a decrease in heavy metal content to 6 % at most. Furthermore, the designed SPHT generated an initial potential of 0.10 V, and monitoring this hydrovoltaic potential ...

Three decades of EU climate policy : racing toward climate neutrality?

open access: yes
The European Union (EU) began developing climate policy in the 1990s. Since then, it has built up a broad portfolio of mitigation policy measures and governance tools, including legally binding targets to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and policy

A Plug‐and‐Play Platform for Customizing Multivalent Degraders and Degrader‐Drug Conjugates

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Membrane proteins remain challenging targets for conventional TPD approaches. Here, the authors develop UPTAB, a modular platform leveraging ultrahigh‐affinity orthogonal Im/CL protein pairs for lysosomal degradation of membrane proteins. Mono‐targeted (Type‐I), dual‐targeted (Type‐II), and tri‐targeted (Type‐III) UPTABs enable simultaneous degradation

Climate neutrality of the French energy system: overview and impacts of sustainable aviation fuel production

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
CO2 emission reduction of sectors such as aviation, maritime shipping, road haulage, and chemical production is challenging but necessary. Although these sectors will most likely continue to rely on carbonaceous energy carriers, they are expected to ...

PANX2 Suppresses Lung Adenocarcinoma Progression by Inducing Disulfidptosis and Enhancing Antitumor Immunity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) remains a leading cause of cancer mortality with limited therapeutic options. Disulfidptosis, a novel cell death modality driven by disulfide stress, represents a promising target, yet its regulation in LUAD is poorly defined. Here, we identify Pannexin 2 (PANX2) as a tumor suppressor in LUAD.

Trophic Diversity in Duckweed: Mixotrophy, More Than the Sum of its Extremes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In the context of rising DOC in aquatic environments, mixotrophic duckweed may impact carbon cycling by acting as either a carbon sink, as they absorb CO2 through photosynthesis, or a carbon source, as they release CO2 through respiration of absorbed DOC, which depends on DOC concentration, light availability, temperature, and other environmental ...

Climate policy integration and climate mainstreaming in the EU budget

open access: yes, 2023
The EU has championed the integration of climate change objectives into other policy areas through Climate Policy Integration (CPI). CPI emerged in the 2000s, especially in the areas of energy, agriculture and transport policy, as well as in the form of ...

A critique of climate objectivity in the context of global injustice

open access: yesEnvironmental Research Letters
As climate science intersects with rising political urgency and global ecological crisis, calls for ‘neutrality’ risk obscuring the field’s entanglement with systems of power, historical dispossession, and structural inequality.

Orchestrated Engineered Polyphenol‐Peptide Condensates Coupled With β‐GP Reverses Diabetic Osteoporosis by Remodeling Mitophagy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional β‐GP@EGCG‐E7 nanoplatform is engineered by polyphenol–peptide condensation and phosphate loading. Bone‐targeted delivery, antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory activity, and mitophagy restoration are integrated in one system, enabling protection of osteoblasts and endothelial cells and promoting bone regeneration under diabetic ...
