This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.

Antarctic Meltwater‐Stratification Feedback Is Less Pronounced Under High Climate Forcing
Several studies have shown sub‐surface warming in the Southern Ocean via an increase in meltwater flux from the Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS), which can lead to a positive feedback through enhanced basal melting.

Controllable Dynamic Mechanical Cell Stimulation using Magnetically Actuated Artificial Cilia
This paper introduces a platform based on magnetic artificial cilia for providing controllable dynamic mechanical stimulation to single cells, suitable for investigating large cell populations and enabling live cell imaging. Proof‐of‐principle experiments show that cell morphology is strongly influenced by the artificial cilia, that cellular forces can

Antarctic ice dynamics in warm climates [PDF]
A geological record reveals that the Aurora sector of the Antarctic Ice Sheet showed contrasting responses to past periods of atmospheric warmth. The findings might help to predict the ice sheet’s response to modern warming. A geological record reveals that the Aurora sector of the Antarctic Ice Sheet showed contrasting responses to past periods of ...

Perceptible climate warming amplifies how education increases climate concern in the US
Among the strongest predictors of climate change awareness in the US, outside partisan filters, is education level. Here we show how, in the US, perceptible climate warming increased the effect that education has on climate concerns.

Uncertainty and global warming : an option - pricing approach to policy [PDF]
Uncertainty is inherent in the analysis of global warming issues. Not only is there considerable scientific uncertainty about the magnitude of global warming, but even if that problem were resolved, there is uncertainty about what monetary value to ...

Fluorene‐functionalized spiro‐phenothiazine (PTZ‐Fl) exhibits strong Li+ affinity and thermal stability, enabling a PCE of 25.75% in small‐area cells and 22.07% in 25 cm2 modules. Under ISOS‐L3 conditions, PTZ‐Flbased devices retain over 80% efficiency after 1000 hours, demonstrating superior stability and scalability compared to spiro‐OMeTAD for next ...
