Impact of Nodulation Efficiency and Concentrations of Soluble Sugars and Ureides on Soybean Water Deficit During Vegetative Growth

open access: yesNitrogen
Drought is the primary limiting factor affecting soybean productivity, and is exacerbated by climate change. In legumes like soybeans, biological nitrogen fixation (BNF) is the main form of nitrogen acquisition, with nitrogen being converted into ureides.

The physics of climate change: simple models in climate science [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2018
There is a perception that climate science can only be approached with complex computer simulations. But working climate scientists often use simple models to understand their simulations and make order-of-magnitude estimates. This article presents some of these simple models with the goal of making climate science more accessible and comprehensible.

Synthetic Strategy for mRNA Encapsulation and Gene Delivery with Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This research utilizes the ZIF‐8 for the encapsulation and intracellular delivery of nucleic acids, specifically mRNA, for applications in gene delivery. Integrating PEI addresses the issue of mRNA leakage from ZIF‐8, resulting in the delivery and expression of green fluorescent protein (GFP) in vitro and firefly luciferase in vivo.

Variations of the earth's magnetic field and rapid climatic cooling: A possible link through changes in global ice volume [PDF]

open access: yes
A possible relationship between large scale changes in global ice volume, variations in the earth's magnetic field, and short term climatic cooling is investigated through a study of the geomagnetic and climatic records of the past 300,000 years.
