Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

International Federation of Endodontic Associations education committee position statement on the management of internal root resorption: Suggested clinical protocol

open access: yesEndodontology
Internal root resorption (IRR) results due to loss or damage of the predentin layer around the pulp chamber/root canal in association with a chronic inflammatory process. Multiple variables, such as traumatic injury, orthodontic tooth movement, excessive

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Assessing Feasibility and Effectiveness of Pediatric Dental Provider’s Role in Oral Health and Prevention Education in the Care of Children with Leukemia [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Purpose: Pediatric dentists could serve a role in care of children with leukemia. Oral sequelae of cancer therapies are well documented. The purpose of this study is to assess the feasibility and effectiveness of the pediatric dentist in the care of ...

Structured continuous positive airway pressure weaning standardizes discontinuation and reduces instability events

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics
Background/objectivesContinuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a cornerstone of neonatal respiratory support, yet weaning practices remain highly variable and largely experience-based.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Abstract 105 | Muscle forces in patient with bruxism

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Translational Myology
The condition of the masticatory system and, accordingly, chewing efficiency can be judged from the data obtained on the maximum bite force. It is known that the strength of the masticatory muscles, the biomechanics of the jaw, teeth and supporting bone,
