Establishing cost-effectiveness of genetic targeting of cancer therapies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The clinical benefit of a new genomic instrument, the 70-gene signature for breast cancer patients, is being evaluated in a randomised clinical trial. The early, controlled implementation process is supported by a Constructive Technology Assessment to ...

Clinical trial publications

open access: yesSaudi Journal of Anaesthesia, 2019
Clinical trials are observations or experiments performed in clinical research. It is customary for researchers to publish their interim findings during the course of the trial. However, publishing the final results and outcomes is imperative. The CONSORT statement was developed to aid the randomized control clinical trial's authors to standardize the ...

TRPM4 contributes to cell death in prostate cancer tumor spheroids, and to extravasation and metastasis in a zebrafish xenograft model system

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Transient receptor potential melastatin‐4 (TRPM4) is overexpressed in prostate cancer (PCa). Knockout of TRPM4 resulted in reduced PCa tumor spheroid size and decreased PCa tumor spheroid outgrowth. In addition, lack of TRPM4 increased cell death in PCa tumor spheroids.

Language Interaction Network for Clinical Trial Approval Estimation [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Clinical trial outcome prediction seeks to estimate the likelihood that a clinical trial will successfully reach its intended endpoint. This process predominantly involves the development of machine learning models that utilize a variety of data sources such as descriptions of the clinical trials, characteristics of the drug molecules, and specific ...

Clinical trials in oncology

open access: yesMedicine, 2008
The development of a new treatment in cancer generally involves its assessment in Phase I, II and III prospective clinical trials. This article gives an overview of these phases of clinical trial, through which almost every new treatment will need to pass on the journey from its discovery on the laboratory bench to its routine use in clinical practice.

Cystatin A promotes the antitumor activity of T helper type 1 cells and dendritic cells in murine models of pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) is a disease with very poor prognosis due to therapeutic limitations. We investigated the antitumor effects of cystatin A (CSTA) in PDAC murine models. We are first to confirm that CSTA enhances T helper type 1‐mediated antitumor effects through promotion of dendritic cells and M1 macrophage activity. CSTA can be
