Risk and clinicopathological features of osteosarcoma metastasis to the lung: A population-based study

open access: yesJournal of Bone Oncology, 2019
Background Osteosarcoma is the most common primary sarcoma of the bone. Lung osteosarcoma metastases at diagnosis have a significantly poor prognosis, even when surgery plus chemotherapy are performed.

Oral–maxillofacial and cervical schwannomas: a retrospective cohort analysis with a rare intraosseous case

open access: yesBMC Oral Health
Objective To evaluate the clinical, pathological, and immunohistochemical characteristics of schwannomas (SCHs) in the oral, maxillofacial, and cervical regions to provide a reference for their diagnosis and clinical management.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Frequency and clinicopathological features of metastasis to liver, lung, bone, and brain from gastric cancer: A SEER‐based study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, 2018
The hematogenous metastatic pattern of gastric cancer (GC) was not fully explored. Here we analyzed the frequency and clinicopathological features of metastasis to liver, lung, bone, and brain from GC patients.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

Clinicopathological Features Combined With Immune Infiltration Could Well Distinguish Outcomes in Stage II and Stage III Colorectal Cancer: A Retrospective Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology, 2021
BackgroundThe Immunoscore predicts prognosis in patients with colorectal cancer (CRC). However, a few studies have incorporated the Immunoscore into the construction of comprehensive prognostic models in CRC, especially stage II CRC.

Clinicopathological features of dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans

open access: yesOncology Letters, 2015
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a superficial cutaneous tumor of low malignant potential characterized by a high rate of local recurrence. The histopathological appearance shows uniform spindle neoplastic cells arranged in a predominantly storiform pattern, typically with positive staining for cluster of differentiation (CD)34 and vimentin on

ESR1 methylation and ESR1 mutations in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and paired plasma‐cfDNA of advanced breast cancer patients: A feasibility proof‐of‐concept study

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Circulating tumor cells (CTCs) and plasma cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) were analyzed to detect ESR1 mutations and methylation in patients with advanced breast cancer. CTC‐derived DNA showed higher sensitivity for mutation detection and revealed complementary genetic and epigenetic alterations, highlighting the added value of CTC analysis for understanding ...
