Seismic facies and attribute analyses of a prograding clinoform complex, northeast Sirt Basin, Libya

open access: yesLibyan Journal of Science &Technology
The internal geometry and depositional system of a prograding clinoform complex are investigated using integrated 3-D seismic and wireline log data from the Assamoud Field in NE Sirt Basin, Libya, through detailed seismic facies and attribute analyses.

Classification of turbidite channels of the Lower Cretaceous Clinoform complex in West Siberia

open access: yesLITHOSPHERE (Russia)
Research subject. Turbidite channels of the Achimov formation (Ryazanian-Hauterivian) which occur at the base of the Lower Cretaceous complex of West Siberia. Aim. Identify various types of distribution and feeding turbidite channels, effect on the morphology of underwater fans in order to predict reservoir rocks.Materials and methods.

Further Development of the Lower Cretaceous Clinoform Model of the North of West Siberia Based on the Sequence Stratigraphy Principles: New Possibilities of Stratification

open access: yesGeoresursy, 2023
The clinoform concept of the Lower Cretaceous of Western Siberia was and remains the scientific basis for predicting its oil and gas potential. At the same time, new challenges and new technological opportunities require its further development.

Clinoform architecture influenced by salt tectonics and Quaternary Sea level changes: The Acheloos delta complex, Gulf of Patras, Greece

open access: yesMarine Geology
This study focuses on the evolution of the Acheloos river-dominated delta in western Greece. It is an area with limited published data, that serves as a link between the well-studied rift basin of the Gulf of Corinth and the active Kephalonia Transform Fault.

Exploring the links between Large Igneous Provinces and dramatic environmental impact

An emerging consensus suggests that Large Igneous Provinces (LIPs) and Silicic LIPs (SLIPs) are a significant driver of dramatic global environmental and biological changes, including mass extinctions.

Resolving complex stratigraphic architecture across the Burlington shelf and identifying the Devonian-Carboniferous (Hangenberg) and Kinderhookian-Osagean (Tournaisian) boundary biogeochemical events in the type area of the Mississippian subsystem

open access: yesGeological Society of America Bulletin, 2023
The tristate area of Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri contains some of the best-exposed Mississippian strata in the world, including the type area for the Mississippian subsystem, across a broad carbonate platform known as the Burlington shelf.

Palaeolandscape reconstruction of a shallow coastal embayment in Kattegat, Denmark—influence of sea‐level changes during the latest Pleistocene and Holocene

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
We analyse the geological processes of a coastal embayment in the Kattegat. Using high‐resolution seismic data and sediment cores, we describe a geological evolution from glacial to shallow marine stages with a variety of preserved facies from different depositional settings, including glacio‐lacustrine, telmatic, limnic and coastal environments.

An integrated approach to the study of Achimov deposits within the South Tambey field (Western Siberia)

open access: yesGeoresursy
In order to clarify the structure of promising oil and gas objects in the South Tambey field (Western Siberia), an integrated approach to the study of Achimov deposits has been developed. The oil and gas potential level includes layers from PK1 to Yu9 at

Identifying the pre‐Odra river system with hydroacoustic and seismic reflection imagery offshore Rügen Island, southern Baltic Sea

open access: yesBoreas, EarlyView.
Understanding the course and dynamics of ancient river systems, such as the pre‐Odra, provides valuable insights into the post‐glacial evolution of landscapes and riverine processes. The northwest‐trending pre‐Odra was an important drainage system of the European mainland into the Baltic Basin during and after the Scandinavian Ice Sheet retreat ...
