Fertility of dairy cattle following oestrus and ovulation controlled with cloprostenol, oestradiol benzoate and progesterone or progesterone and cloprostenol

Journal of Steroid Biochemistry, 1983
There have been several approaches to the control of the timing of the oestrous cycle and ovulation in dairy cattle in the last three decades. The first phase involved the use of progestins which were administered in various forms for prolonged periods.

A new chemoenzymatic synthesis of d-cloprostenol

Tetrahedron: Asymmetry, 2005
Abstract A new chemoenzymatic synthesis of d -cloprostenol based on the biocatalytical resolution of anti -2-oxotricyclo[2.2.1.0]heptan-7-carboxylic acid 1 has been developed. The resolution was attempted by different approaches: esterification or reduction of the acid and hydrolysis or reduction of the corresponding esters.

Specific binding of dl‐cloprostenol and d‐cloprostenol to PG F receptors in bovine corpus luteum and myometrial cell membranes

Journal of Veterinary Pharmacology and Therapeutics, 1994
Prostaglandin F2α receptors (PGF2α Rs) were measured in bovine corpus luteum and myometrial cell membranes using a radiometric method. The inhibition of labelled PGF2α binding exerted by d‐cloprostenol, dl‐cloprostenol, PGF2α and PGE1 (l0–11 M to 10–4 M) was evaluated in vitro.

d-Cloprostenol enhances estrus synchronization in tropical hair sheep

Tropical Animal Health and Production, 2018
To compare the effects of PGF2α (dinoprost tromethamine) and D-cloprostenol in a two-dose protocol for estrus synchronization in hair sheep during breeding season in Yucatán, México, two experiments were conducted. In experiment 1, 61 cyclic hair sheep were divided into two groups: G1 (control n = 30), two doses of 50 μg of dinoprost tromethamine IM ...

Comparison of oestrus synchronisation programmes in dairy cattle using oestradiol benzoate, short-acting progesterone and cloprostenol, or buserelin and cloprostenol

New Zealand Veterinary Journal, 2001
To evaluate the efficacy of a programme using oestradiol benzoate, progesterone and the prostaglandin-F2 (PG) analogue, cloprostenol, to synchronise oestrus and ovulation in dairy cows, compared with a programme using a gonadotropinreleasing hormone (GnRH) agonist, buserelin, and cloprostenol.Twenty non-lactating dairy cows, at random stages of the ...

Cloprostenol† for termination of pregnancy in cattle

New Zealand Veterinary Journal, 1977
Summary Two hundred and twenty seven dairy cows and heifers which had conceived at least 245 days previously were treated with dexamethasone alone (20 mg i/m), cloprostenol alone (500 µg s/c) or both drugs at different time-combinations in order to study the effect in terms of induction of parturition.

Controlled breeding of dairy cows with cloprostenol.

The Canadian veterinary journal = La revue veterinaire canadienne, 2010
The percentage of dairy cows that were mated and became pregnant during a 42 day breeding period was not significantly different when animals were routinely observed for estrus and mated when detected (71%, n = 56), inseminated at estrus following a single injection of cloprostenol (72%, n = 29), or inseminated at a fixed time after two cloprostenol ...
