Laser Engineering of HfN‐Based Nanoparticles for Safe NIR‐I Photothermal and X‐ray Enhancing Cancer Therapies

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we produced HfN‐based nanoparticles via femtosecond laser ablation in acetone. The nanoparticles exhibit a red‐shifted plasmonic resonance in the NIR‐I window, colloidal stability after coating with polyethyleneglycol, and excellent biocompatibility. The photothermal and X‐ray sensitization therapeutic effects were demonstrated for tumor

Unraveling the Heterogeneity of Cargo Distribution in the Exogenous Association of Proteins With Extracellular Vesicles

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We characterized the distribution of cargo proteins associated with extracellular vesicles using various exogenous loading methods. In all cases, single‐particle analysis revealed that the distribution of protein content per EV is heterogeneous, following an exponential decay function.

Coefficient bounds for certain families of bi-Bazilevič and bi-Ozaki-close-to-convex functions

open access: yesAIMS Mathematics
The aim of this work is to introduce two families, $ \mathcal{B}_{\Sigma}(\wp; \vartheta) $ and $ \mathcal{O}_{\Sigma}(\varkappa; \vartheta) $, of holomorphic and bi-univalent functions involving the Bazilevič functions and the Ozaki-close-to-convex ...

On certain classes of close‐to‐convex functions [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 1991
The author defines a class \(R_ n\) \((n=0,1,2,\dots)\) of analytic functions as follows: \(f(z)=z+\sum^ \infty_ 2 a_ k z^ k\) belongs to \(R_ n\) if and only if it is analytic and \(\text{Re}\bigl[z((D^ n f(z))'/(D^ n f(z)))\bigr]>0\) in the open unit disc. \(f\in K_ n\) if there exist \(g\in R_ n\) such that \(\text{Re}\bigl[z((D^ n f(z))'/(D^ n g(z))

Torsion and ground state maxima: close but not the same

open access: yes, 2015
Could the location of the maximum point for a positive solution of a semilinear Poisson equation on a convex domain be independent of the form of the nonlinearity? Cima and Derrick found certain evidence for this surprising conjecture.
