Intergranular stress study of TC11 titanium alloy after laser shock peening by synchrotron-based high-energy X-ray diffraction

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2018
The distribution of residual lattice strain as a function of depth were carefully investigated by synchrotron-based high energy X-ray diffraction (HEXRD) in TC11 titanium alloy after laser shock peening (LSP).

Holographic conformal transition and light scalars

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We present an holographic approach to strongly-coupled theories close to the conformal to non-conformal transition, trying to understand the presence of light scalars as recent lattice simulations seem to suggest.

On the uniformity of the closed-set lattice of a tree

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics, 1986
Denote by \(\ell^*(L)\) and \(\ell_*(L)\) respectively the upper length and lower length of a finite lattice L. The lattice L is said to be uniform if for each integer k with \(\ell *(L)

GAD65 Antibody ELISA With Extended Reportable Range: Validation and Guidance for Neurological Practice

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To (1) validate GAD65‐ELISA detection and quantification for type 1 diabetes mellitus and autoimmune neurological diagnoses, (2) correlate ELISA results (reference range < 5 IU/mL) with established radioimmunoprecipitation assay (RIA; ≤ 0.02 nmol/L), and (3) define ELISA clinical utility and pitfalls.

Systematic derivation of maximally orthogonalized supercells

open access: yesScience and Technology of Advanced Materials: Methods, 2022
Generation of supercells with a desirable size and reasonable geometry, such as basis vectors with a similar length and are close to orthogonality, is useful for defect calculations and dilute alloy calculations. Identification of relations between basis

Mechanochemical Synthesis and Characterization of Nanostructured ErB4 and NdB4 Rare‐Earth Tetraborides

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
ErB4 and NdB4 nanostructured powders are produced by mechanochemical synthesis. 5 h mechanical alloying and 4 M HCl acid leaching are used in the production. ErB4 and NdB4 powders exhibit maximum magnetization of 0.4726 emu g−1 accompanied with an antiferromagnetic‐to‐paramagnetic phase transition at about TN = 18 K and 0.132 emu g−1 with a maximum at ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

Lattice QCD estimate of mixing parameters for heavy meson systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
The matrix elements of the two four-fermion operators relevant for the calculation of mixing in the D- D system have been obtained by a lattice QCD calculation in the quenched approximation at β =6.0.

On the Lightweight Potential of Laser Additive Manufactured NiTi Triply Periodic Minimal Sheet Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores the lightweight potential of laser additive‐manufactured NiTi triply periodic minimal surface sheet lattices. It systematically investigates the effects of relative density and unit cell size on surface quality, deformation recovery, compression behavior, and energy absorption.
