A quasi-closed-loop control strategy for efficiency-oriented DC–DC converters under mixed steady-state and transient conditions

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Management: X
This paper proposes a quasi-closed-loop control strategy for DC-DC converters to achieve improved power efficiency while maintaining dynamic response. The proposed approach allows the converter to operate in open-loop mode under steady-state conditions ...

CX3CL1 in Early Detection of Alzheimer's Disease: Plasma Dynamics Across Age and Disease Stages

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Backgrounds Alzheimer's disease (AD) is characterized by amyloid‐beta plaques, tau tangles, and neuroinflammation. C‐X3‐C motif chemokine ligand 1 (CX3CL1, also known as fractalkine), a neuroimmune chemokine implicated in AD pathogenesis, shows inconsistent alterations in plasma/serum across studies.

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...

Closed-Loop Recyclable Vinylogous Carbamothioate-Based Covalent Adaptable Networks

open access: yes
Synthesis of covalent adaptable networks (CANs) has been considered a promising strategy to address the challenge of recycling thermosets. However, there is still huge room for improvement, such as diversity of polymer networks, closed-loop recycling ...

A Depolarizing Leak in Sodium Bicarbonate Cotransporter NBCe1 Causes Brain Edema

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives SLC4A4 encodes electrogenic sodium bicarbonate cotransporter NBCe1, prominently expressed in kidney and brain. Recessive loss‐of‐function variants in SLC4A4 cause proximal renal tubular acidosis, no brain edema. In the brain, NBCe1 is expressed by astrocytes, where it regulates pH and mediates astrocyte volume changes.

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

Closed-loop versus open-loop “remind-to-move” treatment using wearables for hemiparetic upper extremity in patients after stroke: A proof-of-concept study

open access: yesWearable Technologies
This is a proof-of-concept study to compare the effects of a 2-week program of “Remind-to-move” (RTM) treatment using closed-loop and open-loop wearables for hemiparetic upper extremity in patients with chronic stroke in the community.
