Coupled Vacancy and Phonon‐Scattering Engineering Drive Defect Evolution Toward Multifunctional High‐Performance Bi2Te3 Thermoelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ZnSb reduces carrier concentration and suppresses Te volatilization, while Se substitution within QLs softens phonons and enhances anharmonicity. Swapped bilayers near twin boundaries strengthen phonon scattering and interlayer bonding. As a result, the optimal sample achieves an ultra‐high zT ∼1.51, cooling temperature difference of ∼70 K, power ...

Tunable High‐Performance Metamaterial Filters Based on Novel SRR Architectures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Based on two novel SRR configurations and two independent SRR integration approaches, four tunable bandpass metamaterial filters were fabricated with an ultra‐thin ceramic substrate. Among them, SM‐2 achieves over 97% electromagnetic wave transmittance, with a minimal 1.15% deviation in its resonant frequency prediction, making them promising ...

Engineered Carbon Dots from a Traditional Herb Pair Orchestrate Concurrent Antioxidant and AP‐1‐Mediated Inflammation to Attenuate Renal Ischemia‐Reperfusion Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study integrates two complementary traditional Chinese medicine components as precursors to synthesize bioactive AM‐AS@CDs. Compared with single‐component CDs, these dual‐component CDs exhibit enhanced antioxidant capacity and superior renoprotective effects.

Closed circuit ball mill – Basics revisited

Minerals Engineering, 2013
Since the early days, there has been a general consensus within the industry and amongst grinding professionals that classification efficiency and circulating load both have a major effect on the efficiency of closed circuit ball mills. However, the effect of each is difficult to quantify in practice as these two parameters are usually interrelated ...

Offsetting operations via closed ball approximation

CAD Computer Aided Design, 1995
A general offsetting methodology that is capable of offsetting 2D/3D closed regions of any arbitrary shape is presented in the paper. Regular, closed and bounded objects are offset using an offsetting procedure that is based on closed ball expansions. Each point on the boundary is expanded to a closed ball to form the offset object.

Closed-Loop Vision-Based Ball Balancer

Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing, 2021
This paper presents the mathematical modeling, design, and implementation of a ball balancer. The aim is to balance the ball at a desired position on the base plate. Ball balancer with two degrees of freedom uses machine vision as feedback and DC servomotors as actuators.

Mathematical modeling of closed cycles of ball grinding

Soviet Mining Science, 1986
Principles of the mathematical description of the grinding process have been developed which make use of linear models of population balance and substitute for the real distribution of the time of grain processing inside the mill a combination of ideal extrusion and ideal mixing.

Validation of a closed circuit ball mill model

open access: yes, 2013
Minerals processing engineers and grinding experts agree that classification efficiency and circulating load both have a major effect on the efficiency of closed circuit ball mills. However, the effect of each is difficult to quantify in practice as these two parameters are usually interrelated.
