Billiard balls in wormhole spacetimes with closed timelike curves: Classical theory [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review D, 1991
The effects of self-interaction in classical physics, in the presence of closed timelike curves, are probed by means of a simple model problem: The motion and self-collisions of a nonrelativistic, classical billiard ball in a space endowed with a wormhole that takes the ball backward in time.

Partial Fuzzy Soft Metric Space

open access: yesJournal of Applied Science and Engineering
Matthew introduced a partial metric, sometimes known as a non-zero self-distance. This paper seeks to extend Matthew’s notion to the fuzzy soft universe and create a partial fuzzy soft metric.

Some new results on $\star$-metric spaces

open access: yesJournal of New Results in Science, 2023
The concept of $\star$-metric, based on the relaxation of triangle inequality of metric axioms by using a t-definer, was introduced by Khatami and Mirzavaziri.

Adding a point to configurations in closed balls

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 2019
We answer the question of when a new point can be added in a continuous way to configurations of n n distinct points in a closed ball of arbitrary dimension. We show that this is possible given an ordered configuration of n n points if and only if n ≠ 1 n \neq 1 . On the other

Fixed points of contractive dominated mappings on a closed ball in an ordered quasi partial metric space

open access: yesLe Matematiche, 2015
In this paper, we obtain some fixed point theorems for dominated mappings satisfying locally contractive conditions on a closed ball in a left K-sequentially O-complete ordered quasi-partial metric space and in a right K-sequentially O-complete ordered ...

Traumatic tibia shaft fractures caused by the impact of a golf ball: two case reports

open access: yesJournal of Medical Case Reports, 2018
Background As golf becomes increasingly popular, the number of injuries while playing golf also increases. We experienced two cases of traumatic tibia shaft fractures caused by the impact of a golf ball.

Closed geodesics and pluricanonical sections on ball quotients [PDF]

open access: yesComplex Analysis and its Synergies, 2019
We obtain asymptotics of sequences of the holomorphic sections of the pluricanonical bundles on ball quotients associated to closed geodesics. A nonvanishing result follows.

Extreme points of the closed unit ball in C*-algebras [PDF]

open access: yesColloquium Mathematicum, 1997
Summary: We give a short and elementary proof of a characterization of those extreme points of the closed unit ball in \(C^*\)-algebras which are unitary. The result was originally proved by G. K. Pedersen using some methods from the theory of approximation by invertible elements.

Enhanced grinding process of a cement ball mill through a generalised predictive controller integrated with a CARIMA model

open access: yesScientific Reports
Cement ball mills in the finishing stage of the cement industries consume the highest energy in the cement manufacturing stage. Therefore, suitable controllers that result in good productivity and product quality with reduced energy consumption are ...
