A new closed-form solution for absolute orientation
Proceedings of IEEE Conference on Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition CVPR-94, 1994Presents a closed-form solution for the determination of 3D displacement and rotation parameters, given a set of 3D point correspondences. The method applies to the general case of arbitrary displacement and rotation with respect to an arbitrary stationary scene.

Computing closed form solutions of integrable connections
Proceedings of the 37th International Symposium on Symbolic and Algebraic Computation, 2012We present algorithms for computing rational and hyperexponential solutions of linear D-finite partial differential systems written as integrable connections. We show that these types of solutions can be computed recursively by adapting existing algorithms handling ordinary linear differential systems.

Closed‐Form Heave Solutions for Expansive Soils
Journal of Geotechnical Engineering, 1988During the past decade, the theory for heave prediction has developed within the context of unsaturated soil behavior and has become a valuable tool for geotechnical practice. The laboratory procedures for testing expansive soils have also been essentially standardized.

Closed-form solutions for vehicle traction problems
Proceedings of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers, Part D: Journal of Automobile Engineering, 2002Conventional approaches to vehicle traction and propulsion analysis have used spread-sheets or numerical integrations owing to the difficulty in deriving closed-form solutions. This is inconvenient if a parameter is to be varied, and it is even more difficult when multiple parameters of a complex model are evaluated at the design ...

Closed-Form Solutions for Robust Inventory Management
Management Science, 2017We propose and analyze robust optimization models of an inventory management problem, where cumulative purchase, inventory, and shortage costs over n periods are minimized for correlated nonidentically distributed demand. We assume that the means and covariance matrix of stochastic demand are known; the distributions are not needed.

Some Closed‐Form Solutions of Burgers’ Equation
Studies in Applied Mathematics, 1993This paper shows how to use the method of quasisolutions to construct exact solutions to Burgers’ equation. A function υ=υ(x, y) is called a quasisolution of a PDE in case there exists a function φ (not a constant function) of one variable so that u(x, y)=φ(υ(x, y)) is a solution of the equation.

Closed-Form and Near Closed-Form Solutions for TDOA-Based Joint Source and Sensor Localization
IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2016In this paper, we derive closed-form and near closed-form solutions for joint source and sensor localization from time-difference-of-arrival (TDOA) measurements. In our previous works, we derived closed-form and near closed-form solutions for joint source and sensor localization from time-of-arrival (TOA) measurements. On the basis of these results,

Unbiased Closed-Form Solutions for Center of Rotation
2010We present a fast closed form solution for estimating the exact joint locations inside the human body from motion capture data. The closed-form solution is robust, fast and unbiased. For example, the formulae are as much as 100 times faster than the traditional non-linear Maximum Likelihood Estimator and about 10 times faster than linear least squares ...

Alongwind Response Estimation: Closed Form Solution
Journal of the Structural Division, 1982The problem of dynamic alongwind response of structures to forces induced by atmospheric turbulence is treated in this paper. Starting from the classical formulation, the study analyses the behaviour of two structural standard models, called point-like and threedimensional, respectively.
