Enhancing CoFe Catalysts with V2CTX MXene‐Derived Materials for Anion Exchange Membrane Electrolyzers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Access to an ELM-suppressed X-point radiator regime in TCV snowflake minus configurations

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy
TCV’s operating regime with an X-point radiator (XPR) has been broadened by changing the magnetic geometry. XPRs have properties that could make them an attractive power exhaust solution for fusion reactors.

Study of laser heated propulsion devices. Part 1: Evaluation of laser devices, fuels and energy coupling mechanisms [PDF]

open access: yes
Closed cycle, CW waveform and short wavelength laser devices are desirable characteristics for laser propulsion. The choice of specific wavelengths for hydrogen fuel affects the operational conditions under which a laser supported absorption (LSA) wave ...

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Enhancing Direct Solar Water Splitting via ALD of Multifunctional TiO2/Pt Nanoparticle Coatings With Engineered Interfaces to GaAs/GaInP Tandem Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Multifunctional atomic layer deposited coatings and interface treatments enhance direct solar water splitting on GaAs/GaInP tandem cells. Optimized TiO2/Pt nanoparticle bilayers ensure durability and catalytic efficiency with minimal optical losses, while H2 plasma pretreatments maximize photovoltage and interfacial charge extraction.
