Airway pressures during closed system suctioning.
Heart & lung : the journal of critical care, 1988Closed system suctioning (CSS) is a method of removing secretions from the tracheobronchial tree of patients with mechanical ventilation without disconnecting the mechanical ventilator. The putative benefits of CSS include the maintenance of positive pressure ventilation, oxygen supply, and positive end-expiratory pressure (PEEP).

A simple modification of closed suction drainage systems.
Surgery, gynecology & obstetrics, 1989A simple modification (patent pending) of existing systems of closed suction drainage is described herein. This system maintains patency in a closed sterile manner and facilitates sampling of drainage for laboratory analysis.
