Increasing canola plant density reduced flea beetle abundance per plant and increased yield, independent of region or insecticide use, highlighting its potential as a component of integrated pest management. Abstract The crucifer flea beetle, Phyllotreta cruciferae (Goeze), and the striped flea beetle, Phyllotreta striolata (Fabricius) (Coleoptera ...

Pesticide use in integrated pest and pollinator management framework to protect pollinator health
Integrated pest management (IPM) emphasizes non‐chemical methods, with pesticides as a last resort, while integrated pest and pollinator management (IPPM) integrates pollinator health into pest control strategies. Abstract Agricultural pesticides have historically been a critical tool in controlling pests and diseases, preventing widespread suffering ...

The entire fate of the widely used insecticide thiamethoxam from field cultivation, manufacturing to brewing were studied. A method to simultaneously detect thiamethoxam and its two metabolites, clothianidin and CGA265307, was developed.

2D nanosheets, with large surface area, excellent optical/electrical properties, and high specificity, combine with lateral flow assay strips to enable rapid, readable detection, boosting the strips’ development and applications. Abstract Lateral flow assays (LFAs) are widely used for point‐of‐care diagnostics, but their detection capability remains ...

High clothianidin concentrations prevented colonization, while bifenthrin showed a non‐significant trend of reduced fly abundance, indicating both insecticides may suppress blow fly activity on treated carcasses. Adult emergence rates were unaffected, with no statistically significant differences observed across insecticide treatments, suggesting ...

Densities of all Anopheles species were approximately comparable across all IRS regimes. No differences observed between treatment regimes regarding species composition of the Anopheles funestus group or An. gambiae complex. This operational pilot demonstrates the practical feasibility of IRS micro‐mosaics, despite the inherent increase in deployment ...

Evaluating the susceptibility of malaria vectors to the new WHO-recommended products is a key step before large-scale deployment. We mapped the susceptibility profile of Anopheles funestus to neonicotinoids across Africa and established the diagnostic ...

Effects of Exposure to Clothianidin on the Reproductive System of Male Quails
Clothianidin (CTD) is a neonicotinoid developed in the 1990s as an insecticide having selective toxicity, but it was later found to cause reproductive abnormalities in rats through oxidative stress. There is an attempt to preserve endangered animals, including the Japanese crested ibis, in Japan.

We applied three thiamethoxam spray treatments to buckwheat border strips: control (no nearby spray), drift (adjacent peach trees directly sprayed) and direct spray (buckwheat and peaches directly sprayed). Drift‐treated buckwheat received about 1.4% the amount of thiamethoxam as direct‐spray buckwheat. This amount has no lethal effects on parasitoids,

Using the Solitary Pollinator Osmia lignaria to Bridge Agricultural Practice and Ecological Theory
We synthesize key ecological and life‐history aspects of the solitary bee Osmia lignaria, including early developmental stages, nesting biology, and foraging strategies. We further relate these traits to pollination services across agricultural and natural ecosystems and identify the most important current stressors affecting this species.
