Comparison of rapidly synergistic cloud point extraction and ultrasound-assisted cloud point extraction for trace selenium coupled with spectrophotometric determination

Spectrochimica Acta Part A: Molecular and Biomolecular Spectroscopy, 2014
In this work, rapidly synergistic cloud point extraction (RS-CPE) and ultrasound-assisted cloud point extraction (UA-CPE) were firstly compared and coupled with spectrophotometer for selenium preconcentration and detection. The established RS-CPE pretreatment was simple, rapid and high effective.

Ultrasonic Assisted Cloud Point Extraction of Polyaromatic Hydrocarbons

Separation Science and Technology, 2007
Abstract Cloud point extraction (CPE) of three PAHs, anthracene, phenanthrene, and pyrene was performed in an ultrasonic environment with Tergitol TMN‐6 as extractant. During the process, surfactant micelle aggregates came out gradually and deposited to form a surfactant‐rich phase.

Cloud Point Extraction of Nitrobenzene using TX-100

Separation Science and Technology, 2011
Cloud point extraction (CPE) is carried out to extract nitrobenzene (NB) from aqueous solution using TX-100 as a nonionic surfactant. The effects of different operating parameters, like concentration of the feed mixture (both NB and surfactant), pH, temperature, and the presence of mono- and di-valent salts on the extraction of both the NB and ...

Lanthanum(III) and gadolinium(III) separation by cloud point extraction

Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2005
Abstract In the present study, cloud point extraction (CPE) is used with lipophilic chelating agents, 8-hydroxyquinoline (HQ) and Kelex 100 (K100), to extract and separate lanthanum(III) and gadolinium(III) from aqueous solutions. The methodology used is based on the formation of lanthanide(III) organic complexes that are soluble in a micellar phase ...

Determination of triptonide by cloud point extraction combined with MEKC

Journal of Separation Science, 2008
AbstractA method has been developed for the determination of triptonide in the traditional Chinese herb Tripterygium wilfordii Hook F. by micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography combined with cloud point extraction. The analyte was extracted at pH 3.0 by micelles of the nonionic surfactant polyoxyethylene 7,5‐octylphenyl ether (Triton X‐114 ...

Stirring-Assisted Cloud-Point Extraction of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons

Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 2008
A novel cloud-point extraction (CPE) process, namely, stirring-assisted cloud-point extraction (S-CPE), was developed with a stirring rate over 380 rpm in a PEG/PPG-18-18 dimethicone aqueous solution at a temperature over its cloud point. Compared with a general CPE process with centrifugation (C-CPE), the stirring process successfully accelerated the ...

Cloud Point Extraction of Glycyrrhizic Acid from Licorice Root

Separation Science and Technology, 2007
An attempt has been made to extract glycyrrhizic acid (GA) from licorice root by surfactant mediated cloud point extraction (CPE) using non-ionic surfactant (Triton X-100). Almost all of the GA molecules were concentrated in the surfactant-rich phase (also called coacervate phase) after phase separation.

Cloud point extraction of 99Mo with Triton X-114

Journal of Radioanalytical and Nuclear Chemistry, 2012
This paper reports the cloud point extraction (CPE) extraction behaviour of 99Mo in non-ionic Triton X-114 (TX-114), sodiumdodecyl sulphate (SDS) + TX-114 and sodium diethyldithiocarbamate (DDTC) + TX-114. The high extraction of 99Mo observed in all the CPE systems in pH 5 or less.

Cloud Point Extraction of Acetic Acid from Aqueous Solution

Separation Science and Technology, 2009
Abstract A new acetic acid separation method was developed through a successful combination of cloud point extraction and complex extraction technology (CPE-SE), where an acetic acid complex compound formed and was solubilized in a surfactant micelle solution, instead of an organic solvent, and then concentrated into one phase by a phase separation ...

Nonionic Surfactant-Mediated Affinity Cloud-Point Extraction of Vancomycin

Separation Science and Technology, 1999
The partitioning behaviors of vancomycin in a temperature-induced nonionic surfactant two-phase system were studied. N-Decyltetra(ethylene oxide) (C10E4) was employed as the nonionic surfactant. Vancomycin had a preference for the micelle-rich top phase under most experimental conditions.
