Unveiling Surface Species Formed on Ni‐Fe Spinel Oxides During the Oxygen Evolution Reaction at the Atomic Scale

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
≈1 nm thick amorphous layer with a higher oxygen concentration is formed on the surfaces of pristine P‐doped NiFe2O4 and activated NiFe2O4. Such surface layer is thought to significantly promote the charge transfer kinetics compared to the oxyhydroxide layer grown on Ni1.5Fe1.5O4 during the oxygen evolution reaction. Abstract Optimizing electrocatalyst

Overcoming the Low‐Temperature Barrier: Controlling Li₂S Deposition and Enhancing Catalysis in Lithium‐Sulfur Batteries Using Island‐like Bi₂O₃ on rGO

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new island‐like Bi₂O₃ uniformly distributed on the reduced graphene oxide (IBG) is synthesized as a sulfur host material. IBG's special targeted catalytic ability toward two rate‐determining steps at low temperatures. IBG enhances catalytic efficiency at low temperatures, preventing Li₂S accumulation and improving charge–discharge efficiency ...

A Touch Enabled Hemodynamic and Metabolic Monitor

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This work presents a touch‐based hybrid platform for simultaneous monitoring of vital signs and sweat metabolites. With a simple tri‐finger touch of 4–6 min, users can concurrently get to know their glucose, uric acid, cortisol levels from fingertip sweat, along with blood pressure and heart rate.
