Multidecadal changes in near‐global cloud cover and estimated cloud cover radiative forcing [PDF]
This study examines variability in zonal mean surface‐observed upper‐level (combined midlevel and high‐level) and low‐level cloud cover over land during 1971–1996 and over ocean during 1952–1997. These data were averaged from individual synoptic reports in the Extended Edited Cloud Report Archive (EECRA).

Black carbon semi-direct effects on cloud cover: review and synthesis [PDF]
Absorbing aerosols (AAs) such as black carbon (BC) or dust absorb incoming solar radiation, perturb the temperature structure of the atmosphere, and influence cloud cover.

First Observations of Cirrus Clouds Using the UZ Mie Lidar over uMhlathuze City, South Africa
Clouds cover more than two-thirds of the earth’s surface and play a dominant role in the energy and water cycle of our planet. Cirrus clouds are high-level clouds composed mostly of ice crystals and affect the earth’s radiation allocation mainly by ...

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

MXene dervied CoFe composites show increased initial Oxygen Evolution Reaction (OER) activity compared to the pure CoFe and MXene in an Anion Exchange Membrane device. Vanadium vacancies in the MXene plays a role in increased OER activity and hinders Fe leaching in the AEM device over using the pure V2C MXene as a support material for the CoFe ...

Modulating Electrochemical CO2 Reduction Pathways via Interfacial Electric Field
Engineering interfacial electric fields in Cu/ITO electrodes enables precise control of CO2 reduction pathways. Charge transfer from Cu to ITO generates positively charged Cu species that steer selectivity from ethylene toward methane. This work demonstrates how interfacial electric‐field modulation can direct reaction intermediates and transform ...

On the role of clouds in the fair weather part of the global electric circuit [PDF]
Clouds in the fair weather return path of the global electric circuit (GEC) reduce conductivity because of the limited mobility of charge due to attachment to cloud water droplets, effectively leading to a loss of ions. A high-resolution GEC model, which
