Field investigation of glucosinolates and morphological traits in mitigating Psylliodes chrysocephala larval infestation through crop varieties and companion planting

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Genotype and cropping system influenced oilseed rape ecophysiological traits, including glucosinolate compounds (glucoraphanin, glucobrassicanapin, and butyl‐glucosinolates) and biomass, which were linked to Psylliodes chrysocephala larval infestation, with varietal effects stronger than faba bean companion planting.

The liveweight gain of Limousin X Friesian heifers grazing perennial ryegrass / white clover swards of different clover content and the effects of their grazing on sward botanical composition

open access: yes, 2001
An experiment was carried out in 1992 and 1993 to examine the effect of white clover content of perennial ryegrass/white clover swards on the performance of Limousin x Friesian heifers.

Using ecoinformatics to evaluate the impact of crop and herbicide rotations on herbicide intensity

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Maize fields with cotton in rotation receive lower herbicide application than fields without cotton. Abstract BACKGROUND Crop rotation is a central component of integrated weed management (IWM) under real‐world conditions, yet its impact on herbicide use remains unclear. To address this challenge, we developed an ecoinformatics‐driven analysis approach

Behavioural manipulation of the cabbage stem flea beetle (Psylliodes chrysocephala L): Prospects for push–pull strategies in oilseed rape

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
Behavioural manipulation of Psylliodes chrysocephala provides promising opportunities for sustainable pest management in oilseed rape systems. This review synthesises evidence on glucosinolates and their volatile isothiocyanate derivatives as phagostimulants and attractants, alongside the repellent or antifeedant effects of non‐host plants, plant ...

Insights into Genetic and Physiological Characteristics of Clover Rhizobia in Afghanistan Soils

open access: yesApplied Microbiology
Livestock production in Afghanistan highly relies on grazing and clover feed, which is a key component of pastures and forage crops. This study elucidated the genetic diversity of clover-nodulating rhizobia in different ecological regions and their ...

The Effect of Planting Pattern Combined with Weeding, Herbicide, and Cover Crop on Weed Control and Peanut Yield [PDF]

open access: yesپژوهش‌های حفاظت گیاهان ایران
IntroductionGlobal population growth, currently at 1.6–1.7% annually (approximately 90 million people), necessitates a substantial increase in agricultural production to meet escalating food demands. Arachis hypogaea L. (peanut), a valuable legume in the

The effect of cutting on the proportions of white clover in mixtures

open access: yes, 1992
In two experiments with ryegrass/white clover mixtures, the proportion of clover was measured before and after cuts which removed 8-75% of above-ground biomass.
