Systematic Sampling and Cluster Sampling of Packet Delays

open access: yes, 2006
Based on experiences of a traffic flow performance meter this papersuggests and evaluates cluster sampling and systematic sampling as methods toestimate average packet delays.

Cluster Sampling Filters for Non-Gaussian Data Assimilation

open access: yesAtmosphere, 2018
This paper presents a fully non-Gaussian filter for sequential data assimilation. The filter is named the “cluster sampling filter”, and works by directly sampling the posterior distribution following a Markov Chain Monte-Carlo (MCMC ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Letter-cluster sampling and nominal record linkage

open access: yes, 1994
Letter-cluster sampling has been promoted as a reliable method of sampling large populations whilst retaining the possibility of linking them together using nominal information.

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Nested sampling for Potts models

open access: yes, 2006
Nested sampling is a new Monte Carlo method by Skilling [1] intended for general Bayesian computation. Nested sampling provides a robust alternative to annealing-based methods for computing normalizing constants.

Ratio Estimator in Adaptive Cluster Sampling without Replacement of Networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In this paper, we study the estimators of the population total in adaptive cluster sampling by using the information of the auxiliary variable. The numerical examples showed that the ratio estimator in adaptive cluster sampling without replacement of ...

Mosquito microbiota cluster by host sampling location

open access: yesParasites & Vectors, 2018
Background Microbial communities that inhabit the mosquito body play an import role in host biology and may have potential for mosquito control. However, the forces that shape these microbial communities are poorly understood.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Supervised sampling for clustering large data sets [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The problem of clustering large data sets has attracted a lot of current research. The approaches taken are mainly based either on the more efficient implementation or modification of existing methods or/and on the construction of clusters from a ...
