Maintaining Triconnected Components under Node Expansion

open access: yesComputing in Geometry and Topology
SPQR-trees model the decomposition of a biconnected graph into triconnected components. In this paper, we study the problem of dynamically maintaining an SPQR-tree while expanding vertices into arbitrary biconnected graphs. This allows us to efficiently

Efficient C-Planarity Testing for Embedded Flat Clustered Graphs with Small Faces [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Let C be a clustered graph and suppose that the planar embedding of its underlying graph is fixed. Is testing the c-planarity of C easier than in the variable embedding setting?

Embedded Ferroelectric Nanoclusters Can Drive Polarization Reversal in a Non‐Ferroelectric Polar Film via the Proximity Effect

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Ferroelectric nanoclusters create local internal fields in a normally non‐switchable polar film because of polarization mismatch at their interfaces. That field opposes polarization in the regions with larger polarization and reinforces polarization in the regions with smaller polarization.

Semiconducting Polymers Post‐Functionalized With Ureido‐Pyrimidinone for Robust Stretchable Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The design of intrinsically robust stretchable semiconducting polymers was achieved through OTBS‐mediated post‐functionalization of PDPP2T side chains with UPy units, generating dual hydrogen‐bonding motifs comprising weaker urethane linkages and strong quadruple UPy interactions along the long alkyl side chain, which is crucial for achieving desirable

Drawing Clustered Planar Graphs on Disk Arrangements

open access: yesJournal of Graph Algorithms and Applications, 2020
Let $G=(V, E)$ be a planar graph and let $\mathcal V$ be a partition of $V$. We refer to the graphs induced by the vertex sets in $\mathcal V$ as clusters. Let $\mathcal C_{\mathcal C}$ be an arrangement of pairwise disjoint disks with a bijection between the disks and the clusters. Akitaya et al.[Akytaia et al.

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

Atom Probe Tomography as an Emerging Tool for Understanding Defect‑Driven Mechanisms in HfO2‑Based Ferroelectrics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This Perspective highlights atom probe tomography as a powerful tool for understanding the atomic‐scale defect chemistry in HfO2‐based ferroelectrics. 3D mapping of dopants, point defects, and interface chemistry can provide new insight into defect‐driven mechanisms underpinning the ferroelectricity in the system and guide the design of more reliable ...

2D Co‐Assembly of Solid Acids Enables Stable Superprotonic Conduction Above 260°C

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A two‐dimensional co‐assembly strategy integrates antimony phosphate and phosphotungstic acid nanosheets into free‐standing inorganic lamellar membranes with confined acid–acid interfaces. The resulting interfacial hydrogen‐bond network enables anhydrous proton conductivity exceeding 0.1 S cm−1 at 260°C and supports stable high‐temperature fuel‐cell ...

Energy landscapes of planar colloidal clusters

open access: yesNanoscale, 2014
A short-ranged pairwise Morse potential is used to model colloidal clusters with planar morphologies. Low-lying potential energy minima, free energy minima and rearrangement mechanisms states are predicted.
