Cluster headache and cluster variants
Current Treatment Options in Neurology, 2003Patients must be cognizant of the time course of the cluster headache periods to optimally tailor their therapy. Steroids provide the fastest onset of prophylactic effect. Once steroids are initiated, it remains difficult to wean patients off of them, and that is why it is always recommended to associate another prophylactic agent from the onset with ...

In this chapter, we shall show several spatial point patterns in a hypothetical area of a square 10 km on each side to understand what “clustering” or “a cluster” means and to get a basic idea of how to approach detection of clustering or clusters.

Various approaches to comparing subsets are discussed. Two approaches to direct single cluster clustering are described: seriation and moving center separation, which are reinterpreted as locally optimal algorithms for particular (mainly approximational) criteria.

Abstract To probe the past effectively, we need to study galaxies. These are fossils from the past, because their properties have changed little since formation. Clusters of galaxies are relatively pristine collections of galaxies. Clusters have not changed much since birth, and contain any debris that galaxies may have ejected in their ...

When one is lecturing in a centre for interdisciplinary research, it is, I imagine, appropriate to start by emphasizing the interdisciplinary character of the topic one is going to discuss. In my case this does not present any difficulty. Clustering is a pictorial term for positive correlations in an ensemble of randomly distributed bodies or events ...

Reorganization of clusters in cluster-cluster-aggregation
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2000X-ray microscopy and scattering experiments give different experimental results when determining the fractal dimension of colloidal clusters. A two dimensional simulation model is presented to describe reorganization of clusters during the aggregation process. Considering this reorganization gives a rapidly increasing fractal dimension from d=1.53 to d=

In this article we describe the clinical features, natural history, and clinical variants of cluster headaches, following the modern International Headache Society classification of cluster headaches in its two types: episodic and chronic. The basic pathophysiology is considered to be the trigeminal vascular system, the common final pain pathway, with ...

Cluster Analysis Using Rough Clustering and k-Means Clustering
2005Cluster analysis is a fundamental data reduction technique used in the physical and social sciences. It is of potential interest to managers in Information Science, as it can be used to identify user needs though segmenting users such as Web site visitors.
