An evaluation of errors observed in the measurement of low wind velocities [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
Measurements of low wind velocities (the absolute value of V sub H is approx. equal to 6 m/s) with a VHF wind profiler can be difficult if ground clutter or other biases in the system dominate in altering the position of the perceived peak in the ...

Clutter Suppression for Staggered PRT Waveforms

open access: yesJournal of Atmospheric and Oceanic Technology, 2008
Abstract This paper presents a clutter suppression methodology for staggered pulse repetition time (PRT) observations. It is shown that spectral moments of precipitation echoes can be accurately estimated even in cases where clutter-to-signal ratios are high by using a parametric time domain method (PTDM).

Hierarchical Channeled Graphitized Nanoarchitecture as a Diagnostic Platform for Maternal Fever Warning

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents a hierarchically channeled graphitized nanoarchitecture (HPGC‐Z67) as a novel nano‐diagnostic platform. It enables sensitive and efficient N‐glycan extraction from plasma, significantly reducing processing time and cost. The platform identifies pivotal N‐glycans to accurately differentiate between infectious and non‐infectious ...

Space‐time adaptive processing algorithm based on hyper beamforming for ionospheric clutter suppression in small‐array high‐frequency surface wave radar

open access: yesIET Radar, Sonar & Navigation, 2023
Small‐array high‐frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) is widely used to monitor maritime targets as it can be used to save on‐land resources. In small‐array HFSWR systems, the main lobe of the receiving angle spectrum is significantly broadened.

Terahertz Channel Modeling, Estimation and Localization in RIS‐Assisted Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces have become a recent intensive research focus. Based on practical applications, channel strategies for RIS‐assisted terahertz wireless communication systems are categorized into three different types: channel modeling, channel estimation, and channel localization.

Space-time Characteristics and Experimental Analysis of Broadening First-order Sea Clutter in HF Hybrid Sky-surface Wave Radar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
In high frequency (HF) hybrid sky-surface wave radar, the first-order sea clutter broadening is very complex and serious under the influence of ionosphere and bistatic angle, which affects the detection of ship target.

VAE+DDPG: An Attention‐Enhanced Variational Autoencoder for Deep Reinforcement Learning‐Based Autonomous Navigation in Low‐Light Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
Variational Autoencoder+Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient addresses low‐light failures of infrared depth sensing for indoor robot navigation. Stage 1 pretrains an attention‐enhanced Variational Autoencoder (Convolutional Block Attention Module+Feature Pyramid Network) to map dark depth frames to a well‐lit reconstruction, yielding a 128‐D latent code ...

Sea Clutter Suppression Method Based on Ocean Dynamics Using the WRF Model

open access: yesJournal of Marine Science and Engineering
Sea clutter introduces a significant amount of non-target reflections in the echo signals received by radar, complicating target detection and identification.

Space-Time Adaptive Processing Clutter-Suppression Algorithm Based on Beam Reshaping for High-Frequency Surface Wave Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2022
In high-frequency surface wave radar (HFSWR) systems, clutter is a common phenomenon that causes objects to be submerged. Space-time adaptive processing (STAP), which uses two-dimensional data to increase the degrees of freedom, has recently become a ...
