ABSTRACT South Africa faces persistently high poverty and inequality alongside a highly concentrated economic structure, raising questions about whether merger control, especially public‐interest provisions, can contribute to poverty reduction. However, empirical evidence directly linking merger adjudication outcomes to poverty remains limited.

Photoresist (PR) residue significantly degrades the electrical performance of 2D semiconductors such as MoS2. In particular, the intrinsically ultrathin nature of these materials makes them highly susceptible to damage during conventional PR cleaning procedures.

In several real-world applications in medical and control engineering, there are unsafe solutions whose evaluations involve inherent risk. This optimization setting is known as safe optimization and formulated as a specialized type of constrained optimization problem with constraints for safety functions. Safe optimization requires performing efficient

ABSTRACT We investigate the competitive effects of a merger in the cough and cold medicines segment between GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Pfizer. The parties offered efficiency gains, and authorities concluded the merger would not lessen competition. Using product‐level data from the Philippines, we estimate a structural demand model to assess efficiency ...

Properties of Desert Sand and CMAS Glass [PDF]
As-received desert sand from a Middle East country has been characterized for its phase composition and thermal stability. X-ray diffraction analysis showed the presence of quartz (SiO2), calcite (CaCO3), gypsum (CaSO4.2H2O), and NaAlSi3O8 phases in as ...
