Clinical and Cytogenomic Characterization of Three Patients With Distal 1q43q44 Deletion: Twin Sisters With a de novo Deletion and a Patient With der(1)t(1;21)(q43;q22.3)mat

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Distal 1q43q44 deletions lead to a consistent neurodevelopmental phenotype characterized by microcephaly, corpus callosum abnormalities, and developmental delay. Despite differences in genomic architecture, overlapping deletions affecting dosage‐sensitive genes such as AKT3, HNRNPU, and ZBTB18 define the core phenotype.

Yttria Rich TBCs as Candidates for CMAS Resistant Top Coats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
State of the art thermal barrier coatings (TBC) commonly made of 7-8 wt. % yttria stabilized zirconia (7YSZ) are used in modern gas turbines to generate a thermal protection to the underlying super alloy components.

Clinical signs and symptoms in a joint model of four disease activity parameters in juvenile dermatomyositis: a prospective, longitudinal, multicenter cohort study

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy, 2018
Background It is currently impossible to predict the prognosis of patients with juvenile dermatomyositis (JDM). The aim of this study was to find clinical features most strongly associated with outcome variables in JDM as a first step towards tailor-made

Improving protein secretion with autophagy‐inhibiting or proteasome‐activating small molecules

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Therapeutic proteins are produced frequently by mammalian cells in large‐scale bioreactors. As a result, producer cells are exposed to a chemically (nutrients, gas exchange, target protein overexpression) and physically (shear due to mixing) stressful environment, which can lead to endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress and loss of ...

Investigation of CMAS resistance in the (NdSmEuGd)(1-x)/2Dy2xZr2O7 series

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
The study examines the corrosion behavior of the (NdSmEuGd)(1-x)/2Dy2xZr2O7 series in 1300 °C molten salt CMAS, demonstrating that the dense layer formed by ZrO2 and apatite could effectively inhibit the penetration of CMAS.

Spatiotemporal Evolution of Regional Heavy Rainfall Events in Guangdong, South China: Intensification and Expansion Since the Early 1990s

open access: yesInternational Journal of Climatology, EarlyView.
Regional heavy rainfall events (RHREs) in Guangdong, South China, during 1961–2025 are reassessed using an improved strength index that integrates rainfall intensity, spatial extent and duration. Results reveal a post‐1991 shift towards more frequent and spatially extensive strong and extreme events, with June showing the most pronounced ...

Assessment criteria for the corrosion resistance of Gd2Zr2O7-based thermal barrier coatings exposed to CMAS and CMAS + sea salt

open access: yesnpj Materials Degradation
Gd2Zr2O7 (GZO) thermal barrier coating is famous for its excellent resistance to CaO-MgO-Al2O3-SiO2 (CMAS) corrosion, and the judgment is that molten CMAS infiltration can be suppressed by its rapid reaction with GZO, but the judgment criteria are lack ...

Insight into the synergistic effect of rare-earth elements on the CMAS corrosion behavior in (RE1/4Tm1/4Yb1/4Lu1/4)2Si2O7 (RE = Gd, Ho, and Sc) materials at 1300 °C

open access: yesJournal of Advanced Ceramics
Developing environmental barrier coating (EBC) materials with superior calcium–magnesium–aluminosilicate (CMAS) corrosion resistance represents a current research priority in rare-earth (RE) silicates.

Afforestation Partially Offsets Losses of Soil Conservation Services and Carbon Stock From Direct and Indirect Urban Expansion in China

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Urban expansion has exerted both direct and indirect impacts on natural land and ecosystem services it supports, driven by increasing population and food demand, yet these underlying pathways remain insufficiently distinguished. Here, we quantified the losses of soil conservation services (water erosion regulation and sandstorm prevention) and
