The fastest CME of Cycle 23 overtakes another fast CME

open access: yes, 2004
On November 4, 2003, the Sun produced its fastest coronal mass ejection (CME) for cycle 23 out of the active region 0486 located near the southwest limb of the Sun. The CME was expelled with a speed of approximately 2700 km-s.

Six actions to harness the potential of social surveys on people and nature relations: A UK cross‐sectoral perspective

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Robust data on the state of relationships between people and nature is a critical component of the evidence base for environmental governance at local, national and global scales. Social surveys are a valuable method already used by some governmental and non‐governmental organisations to gather this evidence.

Vacuum Infusion as a Processing Route for Transparent Wood Laminates

open access: yesPolymer Composites, EarlyView.
Schematic representation of the fabrication route for transparent wood laminates, including wood veneer delignification, epoxy resin impregnation by vacuum infusion processing, and the final TW‐1 transparent wood laminate. ABSTRACT Transparent wood (TW) has attracted increasing attention as a bio‐based material for daylighting and building‐envelope ...

Modelling of solar wind, CME initiation and CME propagation

open access: yes, 2005
Simulations of coronal mass ejections (CMEs) evolving in the interplanetary (IP) space from the Sun up to 1 AU are performed in the framework of ideal magnetohydrodynamics (MHD) by the means of a finite-volume, explicit solver. The aim is to quantify the

Określenie własności reologicznych biopaliw zawierających biokomponent CME

open access: yes, 2015
Similarly to diesel oil (B7), Biodiesla B100 CME dynamic viscosity at positive temperatures in principle increases with decreasing temperature. Having exceeded 263K, it begins to increase rapidly. The dynamic viscosity for B100 CME at 253 K was 204 mPa·s,
