Interaction of Oligonucleotides with Gold Nanoparticles: Factors Beyond Electrostatic and Van‐Der Waals Forces

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The formation of stable clusters of gold nanoparticles with oligonucleotides at different solution conditions is explored. DNA base homogeneity and strand directionality influence the binding with gold nanoparticles leading to interesting clustering behavior that can be relevant for SERS applications.

Quantum Algorithm Processors to Reveal Hamiltonian Cycles [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
Quantum computer versus quantum algorithm processor in CMOS are compared to find (in parallel) all Hamiltonian cycles in a graph with m edges and n vertices, each represented by k bits. A quantum computer uses quantum states analogous to CMOS registers. With efficient initialization, number of CMOS registers is proportional to (n-1)!

In Situ Manipulation of Growth Mechanisms in the Vapor–Solid–Solid Growth of GaP Nanowires

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
The direct observation of the Ni‐assisted GaP nanowire growth process via transmission electron microscopy reveals two different growth mechanisms by Trimethylgallium (TMGa) precursor supply variations. The decrease of TMGa flow results in the formation of Ni2P phase as growth promoters with cation exchange reaction in addition to interface diffusion ...

Hybrid Memristor-CMOS (MeMOS) based Logic Gates and Adder Circuits [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2015
Practical memristor came into picture just few years back and instantly became the topic of interest for researchers and scientists. Memristor is the fourth basic two-terminal passive circuit element apart from well known resistor, capacitor and inductor. Recently, memristor based architectures has been proposed by many researchers.

Multiplexed Bio‐detection on an Interferometric Optical Waveguide Assembly

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Multiplexed remote bio‐detection is demonstrated through an image conduit composed of 3012 individual cores and coated with interferometric layers. The proof of concept of biodetection is performed through the kinetic monitoring of two complementary DNA strands hybridization paving the way for applications in multiplex in situ biosensing, and ...

Evaluating Ternary Adders using a hybrid Memristor / CMOS approach [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2016
This paper investigates the potentials of using a hybrid memristor CMOS technology, called MeMOS, for the realisation of ternary adders. Ternary adders exploit the qualitative advantage of multi-value storage capability of memristors compared to conventional CMOS flip-flops storing only binary values in one cell.
