Me, Myself and My Insula: An Oasis in the Forefront of Self-Consciousness

open access: yesBiology, 2023
The insula is a multiconnected brain region that centralizes a wide range of information, from the most internal bodily states, such as interoception, to high-order processes, such as knowledge about oneself.

Design a Bioamplifier with High CMRR [PDF]

open access: yesVLSI Design, 2013
A CMOS amplifier with differential input and output was designed for very high common-mode rejection ratio (CMRR) and low offset. This design was implemented by the 0.35 μm CMOS technology provided by TSMC. With three stages of amplification and by balanced self-bias, a voltage gain of 80 dB with a CMRR of 130 dB was achieved.

Evaluating increases in sensitivity from NORDIC for diverse fMRI acquisition strategies

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2023
As the neuroimaging field moves towards detecting smaller effects at higher spatial resolutions, and faster sampling rates, there is increased attention given to the deleterious contribution of unstructured, thermal noise.

The PREVCOG study: longitudinal and multimodal biomarker analyses for secondary prevention of Alzheimer's disease and cognitive decline in French memory clinics [PDF]

open access: yesAlzheimers Dement
Abstract Background While research on Alzheimer's disease has recently made significant progress with the approval of two disease‐modifying treatments and the development of blood‐based biomarkers predicted to revolutionize AD diagnosis, questions remain—particularly regarding the value of amyloidopathy in predicting cognitive decline on its own.

A Sub-µW Reconfigurable Front-End for Invasive Neural Recording [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
This paper presents a sub-μW ac-coupled reconfigurable front-end for the purpose of neural recording. The proposed topology embeds in it filtering capabilities allowing it to select among different frequency bands inside the neural signal spectrum. Power

Advancing whole-brain BOLD functional MRI in humans at 10.5 T with motion-robust 3D echo-planar imaging, parallel transmission, and high-density radiofrequency receive coils. [PDF]

open access: yesMagn Reson Med
Abstract Purpose To demonstrate the feasibility and performance of whole‐brain blood oxygen level–dependent functional MRI (fMRI) in humans at 10.5 T by combining motion‐robust three‐dimensional gradient‐echo echo‐planar imaging, parallel transmission, and high‐density radiofrequency (RF) receive coils.

High-CMRR CMOS current output stage

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2003
A novel current-mode output stage is presented which achieves high CMRR owing to an auxiliary high-gain feedback loop. Compared to the traditional solution, an approximately doubled transconductance is also obtained. SPICE simulations using the model parameters of a 0.8 µm CMOS process are found in remarkable agreement with expected results.

10.5 T In Vivo Head Imaging With Universal RF Shimming. [PDF]

open access: yesMagn Reson Med
ABSTRACT Purpose Brain MR imaging at 10.5 T ultra‐high field offers significant improvements in signal‐to‐noise ratio (SNR), but faces challenges with B1+ inhomogeneity. Parallel‐transmission (pTx) can be used to achieve a more uniform RF field distribution, but necessitates the use of B1+ calibration in the region of interest.

Optimization of the Inclusion of Alzheimer's Disease Patients in International Multicenter Randomized Trials: Results of a National Survey Conducted in Memory Research Centers in France

open access: yesDementia and Geriatric Cognitive Disorders Extra, 2013
Introduction: Since 2002, with the creation of Centers of Memory Resources and Research (CMRR), considerable progress has been made in France regarding the administrative and institutional framework within which Alzheimer's disease (AD) is managed.
