Implementation of the TDCR liquid scintillation method at CNEA-LMR, Argentina
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2006During the last two years, a triple-to-double coincidence ratio (TDCR) system was assembled and adjusted at the CNEA-LMR, Argentina. The new counting system will add complementary capabilities to the absolute measurements section of the CNEA-LMR. This work describes its implementation and validation.

Theoretical fuel element modelling at CNEA
Nuclear Engineering and Design, 1980Abstract Computer codes and theoretical developments aiming to model nuclear reactor fuel elements at CNEA are reviewed. The codes PELT, VAINA and BACO for the overall fuel behaviour, as well as the finite element systems ELASTEF, PLASTEF and CTR are described. The influence on the BACO code predictions of including a fuel cracking model is discussed.

A new digital 4πγ system with a NaI well-type detector at LMR-CNEA
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2018A 4πγ integral counting system with a NaI(Tl) well-type detector and a digital interface to acquire measurement data was implemented at LMR-CNEA. The detection efficiency as a function of the energy was computed by Monte Carlo simulations and the total efficiencies for ampoules and point sources were calculated considering all the decay branches.

An inter-comparison of three boron determination techniques was carried out between laboratories from INFN-University of Pavia (Italy) and CNEA (Argentina): alpha spectrometry (alpha-spect), neutron capture radiography (NCR) and quantitative autoradiography (QTA). Samples of different nature were analysed: liquid standards, liver homogenates and tissue
