Co-immobilized pectinlyase and endocellulase on chitin and Nylon supports [PDF]
Abstract Some factors influencing easy immobilization procedures on Nylon and chitin supports were optimized in terms of the highest activity of immobilized pectinlyase, using two experimental designs. Optimal procedures were applied to co-immobilized pectinlyase (Pl, EC 4.2.2.3) and endocellulase (Cx, EC 3.2.1.4), using a commercial enzyme but ...

Modeling and Analysis of Co-immobilized Aerobic/Anaerobic Mixed Cultures
Biotechnology Progress, 1998Systems of co-immobilized microorganisms are highly effective for conducting two or more consecutive bioprocesses within close proximity of the source and the sink of substrates. In this work, a general model of a co-immobilized aerobic/anaerobic bacterial system was developed and analyzed.

Production, characterization and (co-)immobilization of dextranase from Penicillium aculeatum
Biotechnology Letters, 2008Fermentation kinetics of Penicillium aculeatum ATCC 10409 demonstrated that fungal growth and dextranase release are decoupled. Inoculation by conidia or mycelia resulted in identical kinetics. Two new isoenzymes of the dextranase were characterized regarding their kinetic constants, pI, MW, activation energy and stabilities.

Aroma enhancement in wines using co-immobilized Aspergillus niger glycosidases
Food Chemistry, 2014A major fraction of monoterpenes and norisoprenoids in young wines is conjugated to sugars representing a significant reservoir of aromatic precursors. To promote their release, β-glucosidase, α-arabinosidase, and α-rhamnosidase from a commercial Aspergillus niger preparation, were immobilized onto acrylic beads.

Studies on the Properties and Co-immobilization of Manganese Peroxidase
Chinese Journal of Biotechnology, 2007White-rot fungus manganese peroxidase (MnP) oxidizes a wide range of substrates, rendering it an interesting enzyme for potential applications. The stability of MnP can be improved by immobilization. With sodium alginate, gelatin, or chitosan as a carrier, and glutaraldehyde as the crosslinking agent, MnP was co-immobilized using the embed-crosslinked ...

Producing bioethanol from cellulosic hydrolyzate via co-immobilized cultivation strategy
Journal of Bioscience and Bioengineering, 2012Lignocellulose was converted into reducing sugars by using saccharification enzymes from cocultivated Trichoderma reesei and Aspergillus niger and reducing sugars as nutrients for Zymomonas mobilis to produce bioethanol in an immobilization system. After 96 h of cultivation, cocultivated T. reesei and A.

Maltose biosensing based on co-immobilization of α-glucosidase and pyranose oxidase
Bioelectrochemistry, 2010A new bi-enzymatic system was designed by co-immobilization of alpha-glucosidase (AG) and pyranose oxidase (PyOx) for maltose analysis. The immobilization was carried out by cross-linking enzyme mixture, chitosan (CHIT) and carbon nanotube (CNT) via glutaraldehyde.

Hydrogen evolution by co-immobilized chloroplasts and Clostridium butyricum
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Bioenergetics, 1981Spinach chloroplasts and Clostridium butyricum cells were immobilized in 2% agar gel. Crude ferredoxin isolated from spinach and benzyl viologen were used as electron carriers. The optimum pH for both NADP reduction by immobilized chloroplasts and for hydrogen evolution by immobilized Cl. butyricum was 8.0. The optimum temperature was between 25 and 30°
